Customer Context Gadget: Update Customer Record

You can update a customer record from the Customer Context window when you have an open record. You can also open and update a record after selecting a recent customer or searching for a customer.


Note


If you try to save a customer record that another agent has already modified, the Customer Context Gadget displays an error. You can then choose to load the changes made by the other agent, or overwrite their changes.


 

Update Customer from an Open Customer Record

  1. Click the customer name in the Customer Record and click Edit.

  2. Update the necessary fields and click Save.


    Note


    The First Name or the Last Name is required to save a record. All other customer information in the record is optional.


To exit without saving click Close, and then click Discard.

 

Update Customer from a Recent Customer Record

  1. Click the customer name from the Recent customers list to open the Customer Record Preview.


    Note


    Click the toggle icon to access the Recent customers list.


  2. Click Open to edit this customer record.

    The customer record moves from the Recent list to the Open list.

  3. Click the customer name in the Customer Record and click Edit.

  4. Update the necessary fields and click Save.


    Note


    The First Name or the Last Name is required to save a record. All other customer information in the record is optional.


To exit without saving click Close, and then click Discard.

 

Search for Customer and Update the Record

  1. Click Search and type the name of the customer you want to update.


    Note


    Click the toggle icon to access Search.


  2. Select the customer name in the search result list to open the Customer Record Preview.

  3. Click Open to open the Customer Record.

    The customer record is added to the Open list.

  4. Click the Customer name in the Customer Record and click Edit.

  5. Update the necessary fields and click Save.


    Note
