Settings in Cisco Jabber for iPhone and iPad

Disable VoIP Call Over Mobile Network

   

If you don't want to receive calls or make calls on mobile network, you can disable the VoIP call over mobile network.

    
     
1    On the      Settings screen, tap      Call Options.    
2    Under      Call capability over cellular network, tap      Disable Call Function.     Disabling the VoIP on cellular networks results in the following changes:     
  •       

    Phone Services are disabled on Cisco Jabber.

          

  •       

    You cannot make VoIP calls from Cisco Jabber or receive incoming calls.

          

  •       

    Battery consumption reduces.

          

     

Set Audio Output for Voice Messages

Before You Begin  

Ensure that phone service is enabled for your account.

   
     
1    On the      Settings screen, underCall, tapAudio and Video.   
2    UnderAudio, setDisable Speaker for Voice Message to off.    Whenever you play a voice message, it plays on your phone's receiver.

Set Low-Bandwidth Mode

   

Cisco Jabber uses low-bandwidth mode to optimize the audio for low-bandwidth networks. This may improve call quality for VoIP calls.

    

If you have questions about your system setup, contact your system administrator.

    
Before You Begin   
Ensure one of the following must be true:   
  •      

    Your administrator sets up the system to handle calls between devices that use different codecs.     

         

    
    
     
1    On the Settings screen, under Call, tap Audio and Video.    
2    Under Audio, set Low Bandwidth Mode to off.     
     
Note             

If you call a device that does not support the same low-bandwidth codec. You may experience one of the following problems:

       
  •        

    You cannot hear audio.

            

  •        

    The call is immediately disconnected.

            

      
      
     

Set a Ringtone

  

If you want to set a different ringtone other than those available on your iPhone or iPad, you can set the Cisco Jabber ringtones.

   
     
1    On the Settings screen, under General, tap on Sounds.   
2    Tap Ringtone and select the ringtone of your choice. The ringtone plays when you receive an incoming call.

Set Calling Options

     
Before You Begin  

This procedure applies only to Phone Services accounts that have the Dial Via Office (DVO) feature enabled.

   
      
1    On the Settings screen, under Call, tap      Calling Options.   
2    Select an option.            
OptionDescription
Voice over IP     

Always make VoIP calls over mobile data networks or Wi-Fi networks.

Mobile Voice Network     

Always make DVO calls over the mobile voice network for your device.

      

When you use DVO, the corporate calling system calls you back to start all calls.

Autoselect     

Let Cisco Jabber       choose VoIP or mobile voice network based on network connection.

       

When you use DVO, the corporate calling system calls you back to start all calls.

3    If you select either Mobile Voice Network or Autoselect, verify that the DVO Callback Number section is populated with the correct callback number (usually your mobile phone number).

Add an Alternate Dial via Office Callback Number

  

When you use DVO, the corporate calling system calls you back to start all calls. The DVO callback number is usually your mobile phone number.

   
       
1    On the Settings screen, under Call, tap Calling Options.   
2    In the DVO Callback Number section, tap Use alternate number.   
3    Enter the alternate DVO callback number.
4    Tap Save.   

Set Up a Voicemail Account

Before You Begin  

Get your account information from your system administrator. For Voicemail accounts, you need a username, password, server address, and in some cases, a port.

   
      
1    On the Settings screen, under Accounts, tap Voicemail.   
2    Enter the account information that your system administrator provided.
3    Tap Save.

2    Tap Notices and Disclaimers.   
3    Tap one of the following options to see the related content:

Send Feedback to Cisco

Before You Begin  
  •     

    Set up an email application on your device.

        

  •     

    Obtain the email address for problem reports from your system administrator.

        

   
       
1    On the Settings screen, under Help.   
2    Under Help, tap Send Feedback to Cisco.         

Your email application opens with a new message.

    
3    Enter your feedback.
4    Tap Send.

Send Problem Report

Before You Begin   

    

  •      

    Set up an email application on your device.

         

  •      

    Obtain the email address for problem reports from your system administrator.

         

    
        
1    On the Settings screen, under Help, tap Problem Reporting.    
2    Tap Detailed Logging to turn it on.
3    Reproduce your problem.
4    Tap Send Problem Report email.     

Cisco Jabberopens your email application with a new message that contains a prefilled subject line and attached log files.

     
5    Enter a description of the problem in the body of the email message and send it to your system administrator.

Important:    

To save battery power and storage space, tap Detailed Logging to turn it off after you no longer need it.

        
    

Create Custom HTML Tabs

You can create custom HTML tabs in Jabber. These tabs appear in the settings window and in the Custom Tabs window. Tapping these tabs from the settings window takes you to the destination URL within Jabber. Administrators can also add custom tabs.You can add only 10 custom tabs. If the administrator has created 10 custom tabs, then you cannot add anymore custom tabs. Also, you cannot delete the custom tabs added by your administrator.
         
1    Tap your profile picture, then tap Settings > Custom Tabs.    
2    Tap Add Custom Tab.    
3    Enter the page name and the URL in the appropriate fields.
4    Tap Add.    
5    To remove a custom tab, in the Custom Tabs window, tap Edit.    
6    Tap the -- icon that appears next to the custom tab you want to delete, then tap Delete .    

Call Forwarding

Jabber supports the call forwarding option.

To set Call forwarding:   

    
     
1    Go to Settings > Call > Call forwarding.    
2    You have the following options to forward your incoming calls:     
  •       

    Do not forward calls

          

  •       

    Voicemail     

          

  •       

    Mobile

          

  •       

    Home

          

  •       

    Customize—You can tap this option to forward calls to an alternate number.

           

    Enter the number along with country and area codes.
