Polls


As a presenter, you can take a poll by creating and sharing a questionnaire. Polls are useful for various purposes, including gathering feedback, taking votes, or testing knowledge.

Create a Questionnaire in Windows

       
1   Open the Polling panel in a meeting.
2   In the Question section, select one of these question types:
  • If you want to select multiple answers from a list of possibilities, select Multiple choice, and then select Multiple Answers.
  • If you want to select one answer from a list of possibilities, select Multiple choice, and then select Single Answer.
  • If you want to type in a short answer, select Short answer.
3   Select New and then type a question.
4   In the Answer section, click Add and then type an answer. 

To type another answer, click Add.

   The question and answers appear in the Poll Questions area.
5   To add more questions, repeat steps 2 to 4.

Create a Questionnaire in Mac

        
1   Open the Polling panel in a meeting.
2   Select the Add a Question icon and then type the question.
3   Select the Add an Answer icon and then type the answer.
4   To add more answers, repeat step 3.
5   To add more questions, repeat step 2.
6   To change the question type, select Click here to change question type and then do one of the following:
  • If you want to select multiple answers from a list of possibilities, select Multiple Answers.
  • If you want to select one answer from a list of possibilities, select Single Answer.
  • If you want to type in a short answer, select Short Answer.

Change the type of question

Select the question, then select the new type of question in the Question section and then select Change Type.

Edit a question or answer

Select the question or answer, select the Edit icon, and then make your changes.

Delete a question or an answer

Select the question or answer, and then select the Delete icon.

Rearrange questions or answers

Select the question or answer, and then select the Move Up or Move Down icon.

Delete an entire questionnaire

Select Clear All.

Display a timer during polling

  1. Open the Polling Options dialog box by doing one of the following:

     

    • Windows: Select Options at the bottom of your Polling panel.

       

    • Mac: Select the Options icon on the lower-right portion of the Polling panel.

       

  2. Select Display, and then type the length of time in the Alarm: box and then select OK.

     

Open a poll

  1. With your poll questionnaire displayed on the Polling panel, select Open Poll.

     

  2. When the poll is done, select Close Poll. Or, if you specified a time, the poll closes automatically.

     

Share poll results with participants

In the Share with attendees section, select either or both of Poll results and Individual results and then select Apply.

Save a poll questionnaire during the meeting.

Select File > Save > Poll Questions and follow the prompts.

Save the results of a poll

Select File > Save > Poll Results and follow the prompts.

Or, to save the results of multiple polls into a single file, select Save > All Poll Results and follow the prompts.

Open a poll questionnaire file to display the questionnaire on your Polling panel

Select File > Open Poll Questions and follow the prompts.

Specify options for poll results

  1. Select Options from the lower portion of your Polling panel.

     

  2. Select one or both to include in poll results:

     

    • Include no answer, to include non-respondents.

       

    • Show number of responses, to show number of respondents out of total number of attendees. To include only respondents, do not check Include no answer.
