This feature is available on Webex App for Windows and Mac on the Webex Suite meeting platform.

1

During a meeting, if the host or cohost assigns you to type captions, you receive a notification in your meeting window, notifying you that you're the captioner.

In the notification, click Open manual captioning window.
2

(Optional) After the window opens, you can move it to a different location or resize it to adjust the size of the caption entry box.

Pop in the window, if you prefer to dock it to the side of your meeting window.

If the app detected conversation before the host or cohost turned on manual captioning, automated captions show in the window.

3

Type the captions in the entry box. After you press Enter, you won't be able to edit them anymore.

Participants who show captions on Webex App for Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, and web see exactly what you type as you type it.

If you close the manual captioning window by mistake, click Closed caption options for manual captioning closed captions options button > Open manual captioning window. Or, in the meeting controls, click More panels More Options button > Manual captioning.

If the host or cohost removes you as the captioner, you receive a notification in your meeting window letting you know you no longer have that role. The caption entry box is no longer visible to you.
