Record a call
This Help article is for Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series registered to Cisco BroadWorks or Webex Calling.
When you're on an active call, you can record it. You might hear a notification tone as you record the call.
During a recording, you see different icons in different recording state. For example, when your admin sets the recording state as On Demand with User Initiated Start, you see Record, and the following icons.
- 9841/9851: PauseRec, StopRec, ResRec icons.
- 9861/9871: Pause Record, Stop Record, Resume Record icons.
You see the icons on the Calls screen and also on the line key on which you are recording a call.
Before you begin
Your administrator enables your phone with call recording.

While on an active call, press Record or press More (…) and select Record. You see a notification message

You see Recording paused icon

(Optional) To resume recording:
For phones with greyscale screen, the icon appears in greyscale.

Press End Call to end the call. |
