It is likely that your users have some phone numbers they call often. For example, new users often contact the human resources department. Why not make their lives easier by setting up speed-dial buttons for those contacts so that users can reach out with the press of a button?

You can set up URI, meeting addresses, and phone numbers as speed-dials, such as:

Before You Begin

1    From the customer view in https://admin.ciscospark.com, go to Users, select the user, and then click Call.

The Call service is only available if that user has been set up with call entitlements.

2    Under Features, go to Speed Dials > More > Add Speed Dial.
3    Enter the Contact Name for the speed dial you want displayed on the user's phone. In Number Format select from,
  • External to enter a phone number, including the international dialing code.
  • URI to enter someone's URI (colleagueid@example.com) or a personal room for Collaboration Meeting Rooms (CMR) cloud (hostroomID@sitename.webex.com)
  • Custom to enter an extension, call pickup extension, or custom number. For a speed dial to someone's voicemail, enter * followed by their extension.
4    (Optional) Enable internal extensions or URIs for call pickup. Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series support call pickup on speed dials that use internal extensions and URIs, while Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series only support it on internal extensions.
5    Click Save.

The user's phone restarts and displays the new speed dials. If the phone doesn't display all of the speed dials that you added, it doesn't have enough available speed-dial buttons. My Cisco Spark reflects which speed dials are pickup-enabled. You can delete or reorder speed dials as needed.
