Context Service Fields

 

The Hybrid Context Fields page displays a list of all Cisco base fields and any custom fields configured for Context Service in your organization.

To use a field in your application, add it to a fieldset and associate that fieldset with an Activity, Request, or Customer object. For more information, see the Context Service SDK Guide.

  
  

Access Context Service Fields

   
  1.  

    Sign in to Cisco Spark Control Hub.

      

  2.  

    Click Services to see all of the services enabled for your account.

      

  3.  

    On the Hybrid Context card, click Fields.

      

  

The Fields page displays a table of all fields, with these attributes:

    Field ID—Unique field identifier.

      

  •  

    Description—Field description.

      

  •  

    Type—Field type.

      

  •  

    Data Privacy—Level of field encryption. Valid values are PII Encrypted, Non-PII Encrypted, and Unencrypted.

      

  •  

    Searchable—Indicates if the field can be searched. Displays Yes if users can search records using values from this field. Displays No if users can not search records using values from this field.

      

  •  

    Source—Indicates if the field is a Cisco base field or a custom field created for your organization.

      

  •  

    Date Updated—Date that this field was last updated.

      

  

To sort fields by an attribute, click the column headers in the fields table. To view field details, click the field row in the list.

  

Click the search icon above the fields list to search for a field. You can search by any field attribute. Search is case insensitive and supports partial match search.

  

View Field Details

 

Click a field name on the Fields page to view field details, with these attributes:

    Status—Indicates if the field is in use. A field is in use when it is associated with a fieldset.

      

  •  

    Label—Displays the field name displayed in the application.

      

  •  

    Description—Displays a description of the field.

      

  •  

    Type—Indicates the type of the field.

      

  •  

    Options—Displays the number of options available for a Single Select field type. Click Options to display a list of options and the default option for this field.

      

  •  

    Data Privacy—Displays the level of encryption for this field. Valid values are PII Encrypted, Non-PII Encrypted, and Unencrypted.

      

  •  

    Searchable—Indicates if users can search this field.

      

  •  

    Date Updated—Displays the date this field was last updated.

      

  •  

    Associated Fieldsets—Displays a list of fieldsets that contain the selected field.

      

  •  

    Delete Field—Click to delete this field.

      


    Note


     

    The delete link is not available if the field is a Cisco base field or is in use.

      
      
  

Click Edit to change field attributes.

Create New Fields

Cisco Context Service contains a set of base fields, which are associated with base fieldsets. You can use these fields and fieldsets to store your customer data. For example, store the customer's name in the Context_First_Name base field. You can also create new fields specific to your organization from the Fields page.

To add a new field to to your organization:

  
  1.  

    Click New to open the Create New Field dialog box.

    You can create up to 100 fields for your organization.

      
      
  2.  

    Provide these details for the new field:

      

    •  

      Field ID—Enter a unique ID for this field.

        

    •  

      Label—Enter a field name that is displayed in the application that you add the field to.

        

    •  

      Description—Enter a description of this field.

        

    •  

      Type—Select the type of field. Select from:

      Enter double-precision floating point numbers.

        
       

      Number

        
       

      Enter whole numbers.

        
       

      Short Text

        
       

      Enter a single line of alphanumeric characters.

      Create a custom menu for agents to select from.

        
       

      Toggle

        
       

      Enter boolean options that represent true and false values.

        
        
    •  

      Data Privacy—Select the type of privacy enabled for this field. Available privacy types are:

        

      •  

        Non-PII Encrypted—Data is encrypted but does not contain any personally identifiable information.

          

      •  

        PII Encrypted—Data is encrypted and contains personally identifiable information.

          

      •  

        Non-PII Unencrypted—Data is not encrypted and does not contain personally identifiable information.

          

        

      By default all fields are Non-PII Encrypted.

        

    •  

      Searchable—Select this option to allow users to search a customer record by values in this field.

        

      
  3.  

    Click Create. The new field is added to the list of fields for your organization.

      

  

To use this field, add it to a fieldset first. See Create New Fieldset for more information.

  

Define Single Select Menus

   

Use Single Select to create a custom menu for agents to select options from. The menu must have at least two options, and agents can select only one option from the menu. To create a menu:

  
  1.  

    Select Single Select for Type in the New Field dialog box.

      

  2.  

    Click Add and enter the option.

      

  3.  

    Click the checkmark to accept the new option.

      

  4.  

    Repeat the steps to add more options.

      

  5.  

    Once you create your menu, you can:

      

    •  

      Click the pencil icon next to edit the option name.

        

    •  

      Click the delete icon to delete the option.

        

    •  

      Click the ellipsis to reorder the options list list, specify a default option, or delete a specified default option.

        

      
  

Edit Fields

 

You can edit custom fields created for your organization. You cannot edit Cisco base fields.

  

To edit a field:

  
  1.  

    Click a field name on the Fields page. The Field details open.

      

  2.  

    Click Edit.

      

  3.  

    Edit the attributes you want to update and click Save.

      

  

You cannot change the Field ID attribute. If your field is in use, you cannot change:

  
  •  

    Data Privacy

      

  •  

    Searchable

      

  •  

    Type

      

  

A field is in use when it is associated with a fieldset.

    
 

Attachments

    Outcomes
