Chat with Cisco Spark Contacts

 

You can start a chat with your contacts when they are using Cisco Spark. When your contacts status shows as On Cisco Spark, you can start a chat with them from Jabber.

  
 

The following features are not supported in Jabber:

    Access to Cisco Spark spaces

      

  •  

    Inviting Cisco Spark only users to ad-hoc group chats

      

  •  

    Share attachments from Jabber with a Cisco Spark user

      

  •  

    Share screen with Cisco Spark users

      

  

Start a Chat with People in Cisco Spark

 

When your contacts status shows as On Cisco Spark, you can start a conversation with them from Jabber.

  
     
1    From your client, select the Contacts tab.
2    Choose your contact, select Chat and send a message. They receive your messages in Cisco Spark and you receive replies in Jabber.

Receive Messages from Cisco Spark when You're Offline

You can receive any messages that people send to you in Cisco Spark while you’re offline. When you sign in to Jabber you receive the following notification: Hello. You have been offline in Jabber and have unread messages in Cisco Spark. Visit https://web.ciscospark.com to view your unread messages.
Click on the link to read the message in that Cisco Spark space in the Cisco Spark web app.

Receive Content from Cisco Spark

 

When somebody in Cisco Spark shares an attachment with you, you receive a link in Jabber to access the content in the Cisco Spark Web app.

  

Shared an image.

  

Visit https://web.ciscospark.com/ to view the content.

  
Select the link in the message to go to that Cisco Spark space in the Cisco Spark web app.
