This article describes the whiteboarding function on personal desk devices.

With the Webex Teams app, you can save your whiteboards to a Webex Teams space and share them with other participants. You can also send your whiteboards by email to collaborate with people inside and outside your organization.

Create a Whiteboard

Tap the Whiteboard icon Whiteboard icon on the home screen.


If you haven't already created a whiteboard during your session, a new whiteboard opens.

If you have already created one or several whiteboards during your session, the latest whiteboard opens. Tap to open a new whiteboard.

Use a stylus or simply use your fingers to draw on the whiteboard. Choose from different colors and remove lines using the eraser. To go back one step, tap . You can bring back what you just removed with the redo button. Tap and then . You can redo steps you have undone during the current whiteboarding session. Tap to create a sticky note.


 

To change the pen size, tap the pen icon to open the options . Tap to select the line thickness you wish to use.

To zoom in and out on the picture, pinch out and in on the touchscreen. You can zoom in up to 3x. When zoomed in, you can move the whiteboard around by pressing with two fingers and swiping to the direction you want to move the picture to.

The whiteboard provides an infinite canvas where you can draw and write without never running out of space. Simply swipe with two fingers in any direction.



To clear the whiteboard, tap the eraser icon twice and tap .

Tap Done when you want to leave the whiteboard.

Create a Whiteboard in a Call or Meeting

The whiteboards created during a meeting are saved automatically in the Webex Teams space you share with the other participants during a Webex Teams meeting, or joined by a paired Webex device. You can also open other whiteboards that have previously been saved to that space.

On the call, tap Whiteboard Whiteboard icon. If you can't see the icon, tap the screen.

Choose one of these options:

  • Tap New Whiteboard, to go directly into a new whiteboard.
  • Tap All Whiteboards, to choose an existing whiteboard. On the Whiteboards list, tap the thumbnail icon of the whiteboard you want to open and use.

When you open a whiteboard on a call, you automatically start sharing that whiteboard with others on the call. You can see the avatar of the participant or the initials of the device using the whiteboard so you can follow who is drawing.

When you are finished, tap Done. Your whiteboard is still shared with the call participants. Tap to get back working on your whiteboard or tap Stop sharing to stop sharing your whiteboard.

Your whiteboards are now in the whiteboard menu of the Webex Teams space you share with the other participants.

You can also send your whiteboards by email by tapping .

If you are not in a Webex Teams call and want to save your whiteboards to a Webex Teams space, tap Whiteboard on the home screen when the call ends and select Save. A new Webex Teams space with the whiteboards will be created.

Open an Existing Whiteboard

If you create more than one whiteboard during a session, each new one is added to the list of existing whiteboards. You can use this screen to open whiteboards you have created in your current session.

If one or several whiteboards have been created during a session, the latest whiteboard appears.

Tap to open the list of whiteboards. Then, tap on the whiteboard you want to open.


Delete a Whiteboard

You can delete your whiteboards directly from the whiteboard screen or from the list of existing whiteboards. The whiteboards that you create are stored there and remain available during your session. When you end your session or when the device goes to sleep, the whiteboards that are stored in the list are automatically deleted.

If you want to keep the whiteboards you create on your desk device, you can save them to a new Webex Teams space or send them by email.

Tap Delete button in the bottom left corner and Delete.


Alternatively, tap to open the list of existing whiteboards. Tap Delete button and select which whiteboards you want to remove. Tap and confirm your choice in the dialog box.

Create a Copy of a Whiteboard

Tap the Whiteboard icon Whiteboard icon on the home screen.


If you haven't already created a whiteboard during your session, a new whiteboard opens.

If you have already created one or several whiteboards during your session, the latest whiteboard opens. Tap to open a new whiteboard.

To create a copy of the whiteboard, tap in the bottom left corner. The copy is saved in the Whiteboard menu and you can continue working on it as you would on any other whiteboard.
