Move a call from one device to another

The Move Call Options setting in the desktop app gives users the choice to move a call that are on their mobile device or desk phone. Choose one setting for all your calls.

In the desktop app, go to Settings > Calling > Move Call Options.

Choose from one of the following:

  • Always move the call if supported—You'll always move the call to the desktop device, except for cases which are not supported. When you have selected this option, your active call gives you the option by tapping the green Move button.
  • Let me choose every time—Choose whether to move the call to the desktop device, or remotely control the call on the desktop device. When you have selected this option, your active call shows the green timer. Tapping the green timer gives you the option to move the call, or remotely control it.
  • Always remote control the call—Always stay in the call on the mobile device or desk phone, and remotely control the call on the desktop app. When you have selected this option, your active call shows the freen timer. Tapping the green timer opens the call window on the desktop app.

To move a call to your desktop app when you have a call on your mobile or desk phone:

  • Not paired—depending on your setting, to move the call to the desktop app - or control your call remotely - your mobile or desk phone calls appear at the top of the Messaging tab with either a green Move button, or a green timer button. If you don't have Messaging, the green Move or timer button appear in the Calling tab.
  • Paired to a desk phone—go to your desktop app, go to the in-call window, and click Move call to computer
When this option is selected, the call is moved from your desk phone to your desktop app, the desk phone is disconnected from the app, and the call audio now comes through the desktop app.

You can also pull the call to your desk phone. If you have a Cisco desk phone, press the Call Pull key. If you have a third-party phone, press *11.

To move a call from your dekstop or deskphone to the mobile app, go to the Messaging tab, and tap the green Move button.

If you don't have Messaging, the green Move button appears in the Calling tab.

The call is moved from your desktop app to your mobile app.

You can also pull the call to your desk phone. If you have a Cisco desk phone, press the Call Pull key. If you have a third-party phone, press *11.

Moving calls between devices is only supported on the primary line.

To move a call on a secondary line, first select the line the call is on with the line selector:

  • Desktop—On top of the dialpad, click Call Pull.
  • Mobile—Go to Calling tab, and tap Call Pull.
