Security policies that can affect Webex audio and video effects

In managed organizations, browser security settings can affect Webex audio and video features. If these settings are restricted, features such as noise removal and virtual or blurred backgrounds might not work as expected. Audio or video quality might also decrease.

Microsoft Edge policies that can affect Webex

These Microsoft Edge policies can affect Webex audio and video effects. The policy names are included for administrators who manage them.

  • DefaultJavaScriptJitSetting = 2: Disables a browser performance feature that Webex uses for some audio and video effects. This can reduce the quality or responsiveness of those effects.

  • EnhanceSecurityMode = 2 (Strict): Adds security restrictions that can prevent some Webex audio and video effects from working.

  • EnhanceSecurityMode = 1 (Balanced): Might affect Webex, depending on-site classification and your organization's security settings.

  • Missing Webex entries in allow or bypass lists: If your organization uses restrictive settings, Webex might be affected when JavaScriptJitAllowedForSites and EnhanceSecurityModeBypassListDomains do not include Webex domains.

Recommended configuration

If your organization's security policy permits, disable these restrictions for Webex traffic. Alternatively, add Webex to the applicable allow or bypass lists, including webex.com and any required Webex service domains. Contact your IT administrator if you need help changing these settings.
