Specify who participants can chat with in a Webex meeting
By adjusting these privileges, you ensure a more focused and engaging meeting environment.
If you decide to stop participants from chatting publicly with everyone, the host, cohost, and presenter can still send messages to everyone. However, these messages are read-only, so participants can't reply.
Similarly, if you prevent participants from chatting privately, the host, cohost, and presenter can still send direct messages to participants. These messages are also read-only, meaning participants can't respond.
The chat privileges you set only apply to your current meeting. They affect the main meeting chat and don't impact chat in breakout sessions.
If you prefer that no one in the meeting chats publicly or privately with anyone else, turn off chat for everyone.
