Active Directory synchronization
The Directory Connector dashboard shows the synchronization progress when you are bringing users, groups, or avatars from Active Directory to Webex. You can also get a synchronization report when it's done.

Run the Directory Connector and open the Dashboard tab |

Click Refresh. The Current Synchronization panel shows the type of sync that's running and a percentage indicator of the progress on Users, Avatars, or Groups. |
There are several factors affecting the time for a synchronization. These include:
- How many objects are synchronized?
- Is it an incremental or full synchronization?
- Are you syncing users only, or groups and avatars as well?
To give you an idea of how these factors affect your synchronization time, we've drawn statistics from real organizations who are using the Directory Connector, and shown the results in the following table.
These statistics do not propagate any personally identifiable information.

How do these factors influence the synchronization time?
How many objects?
The synchronization time is related to the number of objects that are synchronized. Each additional object to synchronize requires additional operations on the Webex identity store.
Full synchronization, or incremental?
The full synchronization should not be regularly required. You do it when you first synchronize your directory, as it synchronizes all objects from AD into Webex.
You can also use a full sync if you are having trouble with incremental synchronization.
The incremental option only synchronizes changes to the directory since the last synchronization baseline. Directory Connector makes a smaller set of changes to Webex, so it is quicker than a full sync.
What attributes are synchronized?
The complexity and size of the imported data also influences the synchronization time.
If you are synchronizing simple text attributes for the users, the operation is quicker than if you are also synchronizing their group memberships and avatars.
The size and number of groups and avatars also affects the synchronization time.
