You can call the most recently dialed number from the phone or a selected line.

After your phone restarts, the Redial feature is not available until a valid number is dialed on the phone.

Before you begin

Check whether Redial displays on the phone screen. If not, contact your administrator.

The Redial button can appear as a softkey or line key, or both, according to your administrator's configuration.

Do one of the following actions:

  • Single line: On the phone home screen, locate and press Redial.

    Your phone dials the most recent number.

    If the softkey doesn't display on the home screen, you can press the More button (...) to locate it.

  • Multiple lines:

    1. Select a line if needed.
    2. Press Redial.

      Your selected line dials the most recent number from the phone that just placed a call.

      If you don't select a line and directly press Redial, the phone dials the most recent number from a line that just placed a call.

      If a line key is configured with Redial, you can press it to dial out the most recent number from a line that just placed a call.

(Optional) To assign a line key with redial on the phone, do the following:

This configuration is only available on the phone that is registered to Cisco BroadWorks or Webex Calling.
  1. Press a line key on your phone for at least two seconds.

    If the line key is idle, you can add the redial feature on the line key.

    If the line key has been assigned with another feature, you can replace the configured feature with the redial feature on the line key.

  2. Select Create Redial or Replace with Redial.

    You can use the configured line as a shortcut key to redial a number.

    If the option doesn't display or you can't assign a feature on the line key, contact your administrator for support.

  3. If you want to remove the configured feature from the line key, press the line key for at least two seconds, select Remove, and confirm it.

  • Multiple lines:

    1. Tap the line that you want to dial the most recent number.
    2. On the New Call screen, select More The More button on the "New call" screen after tapping a line on Desk Phone 9871 > Redial The Redial soft button in More list..

      Your selected line dials the most recent number from the phone that just placed a call.

      If you don't select a line and directly tap Redial redial icon on the home screen, the last line that just placed a call will redial the most recent number.

      If your administrator also configures Redial as a shortcut, you can use it from the Shortcuts tab that displays in the phone full-screen mode.

      To enter the full-screen mode, tap Expand expand button on the home screen.

(Optional) To assign a line key with redial on the Key Expansion Module (KEM), do the following:

This configuration is only available on Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series that is registered to Cisco BroadWorks or Webex Calling.
  1. Press a line key on the KEM for at least two seconds.

    If the line key is idle, you can add the redial feature on the line key.

    If the line key has been assigned with another feature, you can replace the configured feature with the redial feature on the line key.

  2. Select Create Redial or Replace with Redial.

    You can use the configured line as a shortcut key to redial a number.

    If the option doesn't display or you can't assign a feature on the line key, contact your administrator for support.

  3. If you want to remove the configured feature from the line key, press the line key for at least two seconds, select Remove, and confirm it.
