This guide explains how to configure the Microsoft Copilot integration with Cisco AI Assistant so users can search external Microsoft data sources.
This feature allows Webex users to search within SharePoint, OneDrive, and Copilot connector using Ask AI Assistant in Webex.
You can enable Microsoft data sources at the organization, user, or template level. Microsoft integration settings will then be available to users. The Microsoft IT admin must then grant permission with one of two options, Connect Webex with Microsoft data sources using the IT admin’s Microsoft account or Approve user’s request on the Microsoft Entra Admin portal as IT admin.
Configure Microsoft data source access for your organization

Grant Microsoft admin consent for Cisco AI Assistant
After an organization administrator completes the Control Hub organization, user, or template settings in the previous sections, Microsoft integration settings become available to individual users. A Microsoft IT administrator must grant permission before users can connect to Microsoft knowledge sources.

To grant consent from Webex App, sign in to Webex App with a Microsoft admin account. |

Go to the settings page where Microsoft data source connections are managed. |

Click Add connection. |

Enter the Microsoft admin credentials when prompted. |

Select Consent on behalf of your organization. |

Once a Microsoft IT administrator grant permissions to users, add the data source connection to Microsoft.

Enter your Microsoft user credentials when prompted. |

Complete the authorization flow. |

Confirm that your Microsoft account is connected to Webex App. |

What to do next
If a user has requested access to connect Webex with Microsoft data sources, review and approve their request on the Microsoft Entra Admin center.

Prior to admin’s consent for the organization, an user may see a pop-up window requesting access when they try to connect Webex with Microsoft data sources. If the user clicks Request approval, the admin can review and approve their request for Cisco AI Assistant on the Microsoft Entra Admin center.
