Connect to a Wi-Fi network

If you work from home, then check your router's speed rating and technical specifications. Most wireless routers support up to 250 devices. But with more people working and studying from home, then heavy network traffic can degrade overall performance. A second router dedicated to your home office often helps.

We highly recommend that you connect your phone to a 5GHz wireless network to get better experience.

Before you begin

Perform the following actions before you join a Wi-Fi network:

  • Connect your phone to a power source.

  • Get your Wi-Fi network name and password.

  • Disconnect the network cable from your phone.

  • Limit the number of wireless devices in the same room as the Wi-Fi signals often interfere with each other.

1

Press Settings the Settings hard key.

2

If prompted, enter the password to access the Settings menu. You can get the password from your administrator.

3

Navigate to Network and service > Network settings.

4

If Wi-Fi status is Off, press On to turn on Wi-Fi.

5

Press Select to open the Connect to Wi-Fi window.

By default, the characters you type in the Password field are masked. To ensure you're typing the correct password, you can optionally press Show PWD to display your input as plain text.
7

Select Apply.

Join a hidden Wi-Fi network

The phone automatically starts scanning for available networks when you toggle on Wi-Fi for the phone. If the network that you want to join is configured as hidden from discovery, you can't find it in the scanned list. Manually configure the Wi-Fi settings to join a hidden network.
