Dear valued users:
We appreciate and support the diversity of mobile platforms in the enterprise, and our strategy has been to enable all mobile users with WebEx meetings. Our strategy remains to focus our efforts on the major mobile platforms and operating systems that you, our customers, have chosen to use.
With BlackBerry’s introduction of Android on its latest devices, we are announcing end-of-support and sales of the Cisco WebEx Meetings for BlackBerry OS 6, 7 and 10, effective on January 4, 2017.
We are pleased, however, that we will still offer users of BlackBerry devices based on the Android operating system the opportunity to enjoy a great meeting collaboration experience via Cisco WebEx Meetings for Android. We intend to support those existing and future coming Android based BlackBerry devices including the following:
- BlackBerry PRIV
- BlackBerry DTEK50
For all BlackBerry users, we will continue to support the ability for users to join any Cisco WebEx teleconference via our standard dial in, or recently added audio dial back capability.
With respect only to devices based on BlackBerry’s operating system 6, 7 and 10, by January 4, 2017, we will:
- Remove Cisco WebEx Meetings application from BlackBerry World
- Discontinue technical support and help page support for the BlackBerry OS 6, 7 and 10
- Allow existing Cisco WebEx Meetings for BlackBerry OS 6, 7 and 10 users to access WebEx meetings until the end-of-use date. That is April 4, 2017.
On April 4, 2017, we will:
- Completely disable Cisco WebEx Meetings for BlackBerry OS 6, 7 and 10 access to WebEx meetings
Again, thank you for your feedback and support.
