Manage Keyboard Shorcuts (Windows)

Keyboard shortcuts management is available for Windows on version 41.2 and later sites. This feature will be coming to Mac in an upcoming release.

Make Global Shortcuts

Turn a shortcut into a global shortcut so that you can still use it when the meetings or events application is not in focus.

  1. During a meeting, go to Help > Keyboard Shortcuts.

  2. Make any shortcut globally accessible by checking the Global Shortcut box next to it. You can revert to a local shortcut at any time by unchecking the box.

Customize Shortcut Commands

If any of our default shortcuts conflict with key commands you use in other applications, you can edit or delete them.

  1. During a meeting, go to Help > Keyboard Shortcuts.

  2. Click on a key command to edit or delete the shortcut.

    • To edit the shortcut, simultaneously hold down the keys of the new command, which will save automatically.

    • To delete the shortcut, click on the X next to the key combination. When cleared, the key command will read Not Set. Press Enter to save.

Shortcut Requirements and Limitations:

  • A valid shortcut must be a unique key combination that is not already being used to define another shortcut within the application.

  • Shortcuts can contain up to four keys per command.

  • To create a shortcut that is more than one key in length, you can combine any of the following keys once per command: Alt, Ctrl, Shift, and one other key that's a letter, number, punctuation, or command.

  • Certain special keys, like PrtSc, are not supported by the keyboard shortcut feature and so can't be included in a command.

  • Some default keyboard shortcuts, such as F6 or Ctrl Tab, are not yet customizable. All shortcuts that can be edited or deleted are available in the keyboard shortcuts preferences.

Restore Default Shortcuts

You can restore default shortcut settings at any time by clicking Restore Defaults in keyboard shortcuts preferences. You can't selectively restore default shortcuts at this time.

Screen Reader Support

We test Webex Meetings to ensure compatibility with the latest version of the Freedom Scientific JAWS screen reader.

  • All the keyboard shortcuts on Webex Meetings desktop app, listed in the Keyboard Navigation section, work with screen readers.

  • Screen readers are unable to read content from shared presentations, shared applications, and shared desktops.

Low Vision Support

Cisco Webex Meetings has limited support for low vision accessibility features that apply across our desktop and web apps.

  • The application supports the high contrast scheme of the Windows OS.

  • The application supports the zoom functionality of the OS.
