Landscape PDF Document is Shared in Portrait View Using Presentation or Document Sharing

Landscape PDF document is shared in portrait view using presentation or document sharing.

Adobe Acrobat file appears in portrait orientation instead of landscape.

Shared PDF file displays in landscape view instead of portrait view.

PDF document oriented as portrait instead of landscape and does not fit inside the document viewer.


Note:

Adobe also allows for each page of a document to be a different orientation. Documents with mixed landscape and portrait pages will be shared solely in Portrait.

Cause:
This is an issue with the default printer settings in Adobe Acrobat.

Solution:

To make landscape pages import into Webex correctly:

Adobe 11.x:

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Open an existing .PDF file.
  3. Go to the File menu, then select Print.
  4. In the Printer section, select the Webex Document Loader in the Printer: drop-down menu.
  5. In the Page Sizing & Handling section, perform the following steps:
    1. Select the Fit radio button.
    2. Check the box for Choose paper source by PDF page size.
  6. Click the Page Setup... button.

    The 'Page Setup' window appears.
  7. In the Size: drop-down menu, select A4.
  8. Select the Landscape radio button, then click OK.
  9. Click the OK button.
  10. Click on the Print button.
  11. Exit Adobe Acrobat.

    Share the .PDF file in the meeting window.

Adobe 10.x:

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Open an existing .PDF file.
  3. Go to the File menu, then select Print.
  4. In the Printer section, select the Webex Document Loader in the Name: drop-down menu.
  5. In the Page Handling section, perform the following steps:
    1. Check the Choose paper source by PDF page size box.
    2. In the Page Scaling: drop-down menu, select Fit to Printable Area.
  6. Click the Page Setup... button.

    The 'Page Setup' window appears.
  7. In the Size: drop-down menu, select A4.
  8. Select the Landscape radio button, then click OK.
  9. Click the OK button.
  10. Click on the Print button.
  11. Exit Adobe Acrobat.

    Share the .PDF file in the meeting window.

Adobe 9.x and older versions

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Open a PDF.
  3. Click on File > Print.
  4. Uncheck the Auto-Rotate and Center box.
  5. Click Close to save the printing preferences.
  6. Share the document in the Webex meeting.
