What is a Content Delivery Network (CDN)?
    list-menuFeedback?
CDNs efficiently deliver static files and content to the Webex app and devices.

A Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a system of distributed servers that deliver web content to users based on their geographic location. CDNs are effective in speeding up the delivery of content due to connecting a user to a server that's closest to their physical location.

With Webex, a CDN allows a faster download of the application binaries needed to launch and join a meeting.

    Benefits

    • A shorter path means less latency and faster download speed
    • Transparent to the user
    • No change in functionality of the application
    • Caches objects for faster subsequent retrievals
    • Global Site Backup (GSB) supports CDN

    Limitations
    • Networks using IP filtering to allow Webex IP addresses must not have CDN enabled. As the Akamai IP addresses are unknown and may change without notice, it's recommended to add the CDN URLs to your firewall domain allow list. The URLs can be found in the Network Requirements guide.
