By connecting a second screen to your Board Pro or Desk Pro, you get a whole new level of meeting experience and flexibility in your user experience.

Board Pro and Board Pro G2

You can use the external screen to either show a mirror of the primary screen, move presentation to the second screen or use it as a full dual-screen setup extending the meeting across both screens.

Desk Pro

You can use the external screen to have the presentation on your second screen while still having all the meeting abilities on your Desk Pro primary screen.

Board Pro and Board Pro G2

The external screen can show either:

  • Inactive (wallpaper, clock, or similar)

  • Content (copy of any content on the Board Pro screen)

  • Participants (for use with external camera/briefing room mode)

  • Mirror (full mirror of the Board Pro screen)

The default setup is that the second screen is reserved exclusively for content being shared into the meeting.

When not in call, the second screen will always show a wallpaper/clock.

Enable HDMI Out

You can enable the HDMI out feature from the Device Settings menu, under Advanced features. Tap and toggle on HDMI out.

In the new settings menu, tap Display under Screen and video. Toggle on HDMI out.

The first time that you enable the HDMI out feature on your device, it immediately reboots. When it starts up again, your Board Pro will automatically detect inputs through the HDMI port.

If the HDMI connection is later disconnected, the device will revert to a single screen system without requiring any additional user intervention.

The feature is configurable so you can set up the system to duplicate on both screens if needed (teaching purposes), or extend the meeting across both screens.

HDMI out configuration:

You can configure the HDMI out feature setup from the device's local web interface or from Control Hub. See the Device Configurations article for more information.

The HDMI out feature provides three primary setups: Extended Meeting Mode, Presentation Only for Second Screen Mode, and Mirror Mode.

Extended Meeting mode:

Out of Call/Meeting

Outside of a call the second screen shows a clock when not in use. This is the default behavior on any device that is set up and not specially configured.

In Call / Meeting

If a user joins a call, then the screen is active if more than one other participant is in the call or meeting. This will be a multiscreen experience with the active speaker always positioned on the Desk Pro screen.

The main screen has a singular configuration of Monitor Role <Auto> and cannot be altered.

Presentation Only for second screen mode:

In a call or meeting the second screen is only used for presentation without displaying participants, while the first screen only shows the meeting participants.

  • xConfiguration Video Output Connector 2 MonitorRole: Auto

  • xConfiguration Video Monitors: DualPresentationOnly

If you set the second screen to Presentation Only in Monitor Roles, the presentation will appear on both screens.

Mirror mode:

Mirror mode replicates the meeting experience on both screens, while call controls, notifications, and other UI elements are only available on the main display.

This setup is intended for teaching scenarios and in large auditoriums where the main screen is difficult to see.

Desk Pro

When only a singular connection is established (HDMI or USB-C only), the content appears on the secondary screen only. The Desk Pro screen is not impacted and continues to show your meetings and events, as well as allow you to interact with it.

This means that when you are looking at the main screen and talking to people you maintain eye contact with the other people on the meeting, reducing fatigue. It also allows you to prepare more accurately for sharing content. If you preview content it appears on the second screen, allowing you a chance to prepare your window before you share. If you are receiving content from the far-end or preview content, it turns the Desk Pro into a single screen system, with the received content shown on the primary screen.

The default setup is that the second screen is reserved exclusively for content being shared into the meeting.

When not in call, the second screen will always show wallpaper or clock.

Setup recommendation:

We recommend that you place the extra screen between your Desk Pro and your laptop, with the ability to charge the laptop with a USB-C cable from the Desk Pro.

Enable HDMI Out

You can enable the HDMI out feature from the Device Settings menu, under Advanced features. Tap and toggle on HDMI out.

The first time that you enable the HDMI out feature on your device, it will immediately reboot. When it starts up again, your device automatically detects inputs through the HDMI port.

The feature is configurable so you can set up the system to duplicate on both screens if needed (teaching purposes), or extend the meeting across both screens.

You can configure the HDMI out feature setup from the device's local web interface or from Control Hub. See the Device Configurations article for more information. The API configuration is: xConfiguration Video Output MirroringType: LastOnly, Mirror, Multiscreen.

The HDMI out feature provides three primary setups: LastOnly Mode, Mirror Mode, and Multiscreen Mode.

LastOnly mode:

LastOnly mode is the default set up for Desk Pro.

When only one source is connected the presentation only appears on one screen, this being the external monitor plugged into the device.

If a second presentation is started, it shows up on the Desk Pro, thus having both presentations on at the same time.

When HDMI Out is enabled, the monitor role is defaulted to PresentationOnly. This reserves the connected screen for presentations, both previews and in call or meeting. All participants are visible on your device and only presentations will be shown on the connected screen. This allows you to continue with your work on the connected screen while communicating with participants on your device.

Multiscreen mode:

This is the default behavior for Board Pro.

With this mode, a preview takes over all available screens.

Mirror mode:

Mirror mode shows the presentation on both screens, while call controls, notifications, and other UI elements are only available on the main display.

This setup is intended for teaching scenarios and in large auditoriums where the main screen is difficult to see.
