You can configure the camera settings on Webex App during a video session.

Customize your Cisco Desk Camera 4K on Webex App

You can customize the camera settings so they meet your needs for Webex video calls and meetings.

Check your self-view image while making changes.

Before you begin

Make sure that you do the following actions before you configure the camera settings on Webex App:

  • Connect your camera to your computer and open the camera shutter.

  • Close any other apps that may use your camera.

Click your profile picture on Webex App and then perform one of the following actions:

  • On Windows: go to Settings > Video
  • On macOS: go to Preferences > Video

Select your camera from the Camera drop‑down list.

Click Advanced settings.

Change the following settings as needed from the Camera settings and Image settings tabs.

Best overview

This option is available on Cisco Desk Camera 4K only.

Best overview makes sure that you're always properly framed in your video.

Enable this feature to allow the camera to automatically frame you. If you want to customize the field of view setting or use the zoom feature, then disable this feature.

Keep the following notes in mind when you use the Best overview feature:

  • For optimal performance of the Best overview feature, make sure that you’re centered in the frame before you enable this feature.

  • This feature supports a resolution of up to 1920x1080.

Default: Off

Field of view

The field of view determines the width of the view that you can see from the camera. The higher degree you set, the wider view you get.

When Best Overview is enabled, the field of view is set to 81. You can't change it. If you disable Best Overview, the field of view restores to your last setting.

Default: 81

Options: 65, 70, 75, 81

Camera control

(Pan, Tilt, and Zoom)

Use the Camera control tool to digitally pan, tilt, and zoon your camera.

  • Click + or - to zoom in or out of the image.
  • Use the navigation tool to pan and tilt the lens to properly frame yourself or the subject you are shooting.
  • Choose a preset if you have set any for specific use cases.

Auto anti-flicker

Some artificial lighting, like fluorescent lights, causes flickers in video images. By default, the camera automatically detects the flickering light in the environment and minimizes the flickering impact on image quality.

If the default auto mode doesn't eliminate the flickers, toggle the switch off and try with the available options to optimize the image quality.

Default: On

Options for manual mode: 50 Hz, 60 Hz

Parameter

Autofocus

Enables or disables automatic focus.

In autofocus mode, the camera adjusts the lens to focus on the subject within the camera view.

If the autofocus mode is turned off, you can manually adjust the focus. Drag the slider left to make the lens focus closer, and right to focus further.

Default: On

Auto white balance

Enables or disables automatic white balance.

When auto mode is on, the camera examines the lighting condition and determines the colors to render the image.

When the auto mode is off, you can use the slider to adjust the white balance manually and get your desired image colors.

Default: On

Contrast

If necessary, adjust the contrast value to improve the image clarity.

Drag the slider left to decrease image contrast or right to increase contrast.

Saturation

A proper saturation setting makes your image look vivid.

Drag the slider left or right to set your desired color tone.

Sharpness

Adjusts the sharpness level. A proper sharpness level renders the image details clearly.

Drag the slider left to smooth the image or right to sharpen the image.

Preset camera pan, tilt, and zoom on Webex App

Presets of camera position enable you to quickly switch to the settings for video meeting in home office or in work spaces. You can use Webex App to configure camera pan, tilt, and zoom settings and save them as presets. You can save up to 3 presets for later use.

The presets don't save the Field of view settings.

Before you begin

Make sure that you are using Webex App 42.8 or a later version.

Select your camera in the Select accessory drop‑down list.

Click Advanced settings.

On the Camera settings tab, use the Camera control tool to change the pan, tilt, and zoom settings.

Click Add preset and enter a name for the preset.

Manage your presets as needed using the More menu :

  • Click Edit name to rename the preset.
  • Click Update to current position to update the selected preset with the current settings.
  • Click Remove to remove the selected preset.

To remove all the presets, click Reset on the Camera settings tab.

Reset Cisco Desk Camera settings on Webex App

If you want to restore the camera to the original settings, you can reset the settings through Webex App. This can resolve some technical issues.

Click your profile picture on Webex App and do one of the following actions:

  • On Windows: go to Settings > Video
  • On macOS: go to Preferences > Video

Select your camera from the Camera drop-down list.

Click Advanced settings.

Click Reset all and then click Continue when prompted.

View the Cisco Desk Camera information on Webex App

You may need to provide the camera firmware version and the serial number for support or guarantee services. You can easily get the camera information from Webex App.
