Add the Watercooler bot to a Webex space

To add the Watercooler bot to a Webex space:

  1. Go to Messaging and choose a space to which you’d like to add the Watercooler bot.

You can also create a new space with just the Watercooler bot.

  2. Choose People, select Add People, and then enter the Watercooler bot email address: Watercooler02@webex.bot
  3. The bot responds with a card in the space. If you’re in a direct space with the bot, send a Hi or Help message or, if you’re in a group space, send an @watercooler hi or help message.

There are few commands you can use to interact with the Watercooler Bot in Webex. To get a list, enter @watercooler hi or @watercooler help in a group space.

You can also type @watercooler question or select Group question to ask a question in the group space.

The bot can be interacted within three different space types:

  • A group space interaction with the bot.
  • A 1:1 space interaction with the bot.
  • A breakout space interaction between the participants and the bot.

Group space interaction with the bot

  1. To get started select Get Started, choose Timing from the drop-down menu, and then select Start today.
  2. To update the timing, change the day or pause the breakout sessions, type @watercooler hi. after the session has already started.
  3. To update the timing, select Update timing, choose the timing from the drop down and select Update.
  4. To change the day select Change day, choose the day from the drop down and select Change.
  5. To pause the breakout scheduling, select Pause.
  6. To restart the breakout sessions once paused, type @watercooler hi, select Restart, and select the timing from the drop down and then select Start today to start the breakout session again.

Note: If the space has more than 50 participants or fewer than 2 participants, the Watercooler bot will not start the breakout pairing session.

One on one space interactions with the bot

  1. To sit out (not participate in) a breakout activity, select Sit Out.
  2. Type @watercooler hi or @watercooler help and choose Opt out in the Group space if needed.
