Sign in to a phone as a guest

If hoteling is enabled, you can sign in to a different phone in your network as a guest.

Before you begin

Your administrator enables hoteling on your phone and you have a guest account.

Do one of the following.

  • For 9841, 9851, and 9861 phonesIf your phone has multiple lines, select a line with hoteling enabled and press Hoteling and then press Guest in.
  • for 9871If your phone has multiple lines, select a line with hoteling enabled and press More (…) next to the line, and then press Guest in.
  • If your phone has single line, press Guest in.

In Hoteling sign-in screen, enter your user ID and password.

Both the user ID and the password fields use two types of input methods; alphanumeric and numeric.

Press Apply.

After successful sign-in, the extension number changes from host number to guest number.

Sign out of the phone as a guest

Before you leave the desk, sign out of the phone to make it available for the host user or for others. After you sign out of the phone, the phone switches back to the host user.

  • For 9841, 9851, and 9861 phones If the phone has multiple line, press Hoteling and then press Guest out.
  • for 9871 If the phone has multiple line, press More (…) next to the line, and then press Guest out.
  • If the phone has a single line, press Guest out.

Press Sign out to confirm the signing out.
