Phones running PhoneOS support zero-touch onboarding, which also enables an easy phone migration process across calling systems.

The workflow for migrating phones from Cisco Unified CM to Webex Calling is as follows.

  1. Migrate device and user settings from Unified CM to Webex
  2. Factory reset your phones from Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM)

    Before resetting your phones, verify that the network is configured properly to allow communication between the phone and the Webex Calling server.

    The phone will reboot and begin the registration process. If it has been deployed in Control Hub using its MAC address, registration will complete automatically without requiring any user interaction.

    If the phone fails to connect to the Webex Calling server, it will repeatedly perform a factory reset. To allow the phone to register back to UCM in this case, deselect the Perform Factory Reset option.
