On the Webex Meetings desktop app version WBS39.6 and later and mobile app 39.7 and later versions when Modern View is enabled, the meeting now opens directly when you select the meeting link.

To find out which desktop version you're using see, Find Your Cisco Webex Meetings Version Number. To find the mobile version you are using, open the Webex Meetings app on your mobile device and select the gear icon, then select About.

Open the Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app and sign in.

On Windows, select the gear icon, then select Preference > Meeting join options.


 

For each preference you set, choose Apply to save your changes on Windows.

For Join from a video device, select Join meeting from connected video device to use a device by default for your meetings.


 

When checked, video device settings will take precedence over audio and video settings.

Select the Always use the following audio and video settings to have your Audio Connection options selected by default in your meetings.

For Audio Connection, choose from the following options:

  • Use computer for audio—Use your computer with a headset or speakers.

    You can change your headset, speakers, and microphone.

  • Call me—Enter or select the work or home phone number that you'd like the meeting to call.
  • Call in—Dial in from your phone when the meeting starts. A list of global call-in numbers is available after you join the meeting.
  • Don't connect audio—You won't hear any audio in the meeting through your computer or phone. Use this option if you're in the meeting room but want to use your computer to share content in the meeting.

For Video Connection, use the slider to select Start my video when I join the meeting and select a camera to be on video when you join meetings.

For Video Connection, check Send my video when I join meeting and select a camera to be on video when you join meetings.

Before you connect to a meeting from your mobile device, you must install the Cisco Webex Meetings application. If you have already installed the Webex Meetings app on your mobile device, it opens automatically. Otherwise, the installation page opens.

Open the Webex Meetings app on your mobile device and tap Sign In .

Tap the gear icon and select Audio & Video.

For Audio Type, choose from the following options:

  • Call over Internet—Use your phone with earbuds or on speakerphone.
  • Call Me—Enter or select the number that you'd like the meeting to call.
  • Call In—Dial in from your phone. A list of global call-in numbers is available after you join the meeting.
  • Don't Connect Audio—ou won't hear any audio in the meeting through your phone. Use this option if you're in the meeting room but want to use your phone to share content in the meeting.

Tap Mute on Entry to be muted automatically when you join meetings.

Tap Self-Video and choose a camera to be on video when you join meetings.

You can choose either the front camera or the back camera of your mobile device.

Tap Skip Audio and Video Preview to skip the preview and join meetings directly using your audio and video preferences.
