Install the Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App

The Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app's automatic update option is enabled by default for your Webex site. The Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app is automatically installed after starting or joining a Webex meeting. You can also download and install the Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app manually. Go here to get the download file.

Customers who are locked down to a specific meeting application version may prefer to get the download file directly from their Webex site. Follow the steps below.


If you have a previous version of the Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app you have to uninstall that version before installing the new version.

Your company administrator may decide to mass deploy Webex Meetings desktop app updates to end users and can refer to the Mass Deployment Guide.

Sign in to your Webex site.

Go to Download and select Download.

Run the .msi (Windows) or .dmg (Mac) installation file and follow the instructions. The Webex Meetings desktop app opens when the installation is complete.

Enter your email address and select Sign In.

Select or enter your Webex site URL, and then enter your password.

Set Up the Cisco Webex Meetings Desktop App


Site administrators can access both the Mac and Windows Meetings desktop app downloads from the Downloads page.

In the top right corner of the Cisco Webex Meetings desktop app, select the gear icon.

From the drop-down menu, select Preferences.

Use the tabs to navigate through your preferences. You can change the following:

  • General—Enable your app to always show on your desktop and to open when you turn on your computer.

  • Account—View your username, Webex site URL, and email address that you use in the app.

  • Meetings—Choose your calendar and Meet Now settings.

  • Notifications—Enable notifications for your meetings and choose when you receive them.

  • Video Devices—Enable auto detect, to pair with nearby devices.

  • Integrations—Choose which programs you want to enable as integrations.

To save your changes, select Save.

On the app menu, select Cisco Webex Meetings.
