Webex Meetings Email Verification
Accurate email addresses are a fundamental step in delivering secure cloud services to users. Cisco Webex now requires and notifies all users with accounts to verify their email addresses. However, Webex site administrators can prevent users from seeing any email verification notifications. This is a summary of the notifications and actions administrators can take to disable notifications.
Email Verification First Alert (WBS39.1 and WBS32.23)
For the WBS39.1 and WBS32.23 release, we previously announced that Modern View and Classic View users see an alert icon next to their profile link when they sign in. We have rolled back the experience that was planned for WBS39.1 and WBS32.23. We will deliver the email verification user experience beginning with WBS39.2 and WBS32.24.
Email Verification Moderate Warning Message (WBS39.2 and WBS32.24)
Two weeks after the WBS39.2 and WBS32.24 release, Modern View and Classic View users will see two notifications that inform them that we will be enforcing email verification. After they sign in, they see a banner at the top of the page and an alert icon next to their profile link. During the two-week period before this message is shown to users, site administrators can verify an email domain in Webex Site Administration. All users with email belonging to a verified email domain will not see the email verification banner or alert icon. When this banner message appears to users, it will specify the date after which the verification will be mandatory.

The date shown to users is different depending on WBS39.2 and WBS32.24 availability for your cluster.
Prevention:
If you do not want users to be required to verify their email addresses, do one of the following:
-
Verify your email domain. For more information, see Verify an Email Domain in Cisco Webex Site Administration.
Starting with WBS39.2.5 and WBS32.24.2, subdomains added to site administration prior to or after the parent domain is verified will be verified automatically without needing any token. Any subdomains added before the availability of WBS39.2.5 or WBS32.24.2 will not be automatically verified and may need to be re-added.
-
Link your site to Cisco Webex Control Hub and verify your domain. For more information, see Link Cisco Webex Sites to Control Hub and Add, Verify, and Claim Domains.
Email Verification Mandatory Action (30 Days After the Moderate Warning Message)
30 days after the moderate warning message banner appears in WBS39.2 and WBS32.24, users are required to verify their emails the first time they sign into the upgraded site. They are unable to continue using Webex Meetings functionality on their page until they've verified their email. Newly provisioned users need to verify their email right away. Existing users have one opportunity to postpone their verification, in case they have an urgent need to access their page. The postponement period is 24 hours from the moment that they click the Postpone button.
