Webinars in webcast view allow you to view a live streaming event and interact with the host and panelists from your computer or mobile device.

Webinars in webcast view are only included with Webex Webinars subscriptions. Registered attendees can join a webinar up to two times with the same email address on the same or multiple devices.

Webinars in webcast view support the latest stable versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari desktop and mobile browsers. Use the most up-to-date version of a supported browser to ensure the best experience. Webinars in webcast view doesn't support Internet Explorer.

For better compatibility, webinars in webcast view support earlier versions the following browsers:

From your invitation, click Join webinar.

If asked to register, click Register, enter your name and email address, and open the confirmation email when your registration gets approved.

Otherwise, enter your name and email address, then click Join webinar.

Once the host starts streaming, you can view the webinar in webcast view.

During the webinar in webcast view, you have the following participant controls:
FeatureControl

Play the livestream

Click Play icon.

Stop playing the livestream

Click Stop playing the livestream icon.

Rejoin the livestream

Click Play icon.

Increase or decrease the volume

Move the slider next to Image of volume icon.

Streaming statusClick streaming status icon
Picture-in-pictureClick picture-in-picture icon
Video resolutionClick Auto, then select an available resolution (up to 1080p).

Maximize your video player to full-screen mode

Click Maximize video player to full screen mode icon.

Share the join linkClick Share, then copy the join link or the QR code containing the joining to share with others.

Exit full-screen mode

Press the Esc key or click full screen mode icon.

ParticipantsClick Participants List button. Attendees can see panelists and attendees.

The following features are available unless the host has disabled them:

Chat

Click Show chat. Attendees can chat with each other during the webinar.

Questions and answers

Click Slido polls icon. You can see questions the host has replied to, as well as ask new questions of the host and panelists. This isn't the same as chat, and isn’t used for general conversation among attendees.

Poll

Click Slido polls icon to participate in polls during the webinar.

Closed captioning is not available in webinars.

You can join a webcast from a Board, Desk, or Room Series device by using one button to push (OBTP) or by entering the webinar number from your email invitation. If prompted, enter the webinar password from the email invitation.

On devices, webcasts use the web engine instead of the native Webex experience.

The following limitations apply:

  • For webinars with 5,000 attendees, RoomOS 26.6 or RoomOS 11.38 or later is required.

  • If the host enables self-assignment for breakout sessions, devices might not support this feature. In these cases, the host must manually assign those devices to a room.

  • Webinars that require sign-in or registration are accessible only to devices that are registered to the same organization as the webinar host.

  • Some webinar controls must be managed from the Webex App.

You can interact with attendees in several ways during a webinar in webcast view. Use Q&A to let attendees ask questions of the panelists, or use polls togather feedback from attendees, take votes, or test knowledge.

Open your email or calendar invitation. If you already have a Webex account on your computer, locate the webinar in your Calendar list or Home page.

Dial the Join by phone number.

Enter the Event number (access code) followed by #.

Enter the 8-digit Event password for phones followed by #.

If prompted, enter your Attendee ID (numeric password).

You can join a webcast from a Board, Desk, or Room Series device. You can connect to a video system from the desktop app or join directly from a video system.
