Attach files to text messages and emails
Before you begin
Your administrator must have configured the following:
- Enabled attachments in digital channels. To know more about the configuration details, see the Settings section in the Webex Engage Admin and Setup Guide for Webex Contact Center. This is applicable only for outbound text and email messages.
- Configured the maximum file size, file types and formats, and the maximum number of files that you can upload. To know more about the file types that are supported across all digital channels for regular attachments, see Supported attachment types for digital channels in Webex Contact Center.
Attach a file to a text message

Drag and drop the attachments into the compose box or click the Attachment icon and browse to the file to upload. Currently, you can't preview attachments while composing a text message. You can only preview them after the message is sent or received. |

Attach a file to an email
Attachments to emails can appear inline with the email body or be attached to an email message.

When you upload attachments from digital channels:
- The system automatically open files that are in supported formats. While there is no restriction on opening unsupported file types, the system will prevent unsupported files from being uploaded to ensure security and compliance.
- The system drops and grays out attachments that don’t fulfill the Payment Card Industry (PCI) rule. Click the information icon to see the error message with reason. To know more about PCI compliance, see PCI compliance section in the Webex Contact Center Setup and Administration Guide.
