To register your DX70 or DX80 to Cisco Webex, it must be running CE8.2 or later. Your first step in registering to Cisco Webex is to convert from Android-based software to CE. It's the same software that runs on the Cisco TelePresence SX and MX series, and the Webex Room series.

After the conversion, you can register your DX70 or DX80 to Cisco Webex the same way yo setup a new device.

Conversion

You can find a detailed description about how to convert from Android-based software to CE software in the Cisco DX70 and DX80 Convert between CE and Android based software guide.

When you convert an Android-based DX70 or DX80 to CE, you go through the following steps:

  • Prepare the Cisco UCM.

  • Install the first CE software image.

  • Check that the DX device upgrades.

  • Register the DX device anew in Cisco UCM. If you are registering several devices, you can use the MigrationDX tool.

  • Run the set up wizard on the DX.

If you are migrating a DX device and you don't use Cisco UCM, you can use the Cloud Upgrader tool.
