AI Development, Data Privacy, Security, and Safety
AI Product Development
Every AI powered feature at Cisco undergoes an AI Impact Assessment against our Responsible AI principles, and adheres to the Responsible AI Framework, in addition to existing Security, Privacy, and Human Rights by Design processes.
Privacy and Security
Cisco does not retain customer input data after the inference process, and the 3rd party model provider, Microsoft, does not access, monitor, or store Cisco customer data. For more detail on feature-specific data retention policies, see Cisco Trust Portal.
Data Sources for Training and Evaluation
Cisco’s 3rd party model provider, Microsoft, represents that it will not use customer content to improve Azure OpenAI models and that it does not store or retain Cisco customer data in Azure infrastructure.
Safety and Ethical Considerations
All generative AI features are prone to errors, so Cisco prioritizes content safety for AI features by opting in to Content filtering, provided by Azure OpenAI.
Model Evaluation and Performance
Cisco prioritizes performance and accuracy of AI Assistant by involving humans in the review, testing, and quality assurance of the underlying model.
