Check voicemails (Unified CM)
list-menuFeedback?
Check your voicemails on your phone to avoid missing important messages from your clients or coworkers. This Help article is for Cisco Wireless Phone 9821 registered to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (Unified CM).

You can access the Voicemail service to hear your voicemail messages. Your voicemail messages are stored on a separate voicemail server. For information on the voicemail commands, contact your administrator.

When you have an unheard voicemail message, the 9821 new voicemail icon icon appears on the phone home screen. You can also hear a stutter tone played when you access a phone line. This stutter tone is line-specific and you only hear it when using a line that has voice messages.

Before you begin

  • Your administrator has configured the voicemail account for you and set up your phone to access the voicemail system.
  • Your administrator has configured the Shortcut softkey in the Applications view as Voicemail.

1

Access your voicemail using one of the following ways, depending on your preference.

  • Press and hold One (1) the One button on the keypad.
  • Press the Voicemail softkey in the Applications view.
  • Access the Recents 9821 Recents app icon app, and then select Voicemail.
  • Access the Contacts 9821 Contacts app icon app, select Favorites > Voicemail.
2

Single line: Your phone dials the voicemail number directly. In this case, skip to Step 3.

Multiple lines: The phone's behavior varies slightly depending on how your access voicemail.

  • If you access the voicemail by pressing and hold One (1), your phone dials the voicemail number from the current line regardless of whether there are unheard voicemail messages.
  • If you access the voicemail using any other method, your phone dials the voicemail number for the lines in the order of those that have unheard voicemail messages.
3

Follow the voice instructions to access your messages.
