Meetings and events support any streaming service that supports Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP) or Real-Time Messaging Protocol-Secure (RTMPS), such as streaming on Twitter using Periscope Producer, Workplace from Facebook, and YouTube with YouTube Live.

Live streaming is available in Events version WBS40.2 and later.


When live streaming is enabled, it's enabled in both meetings and events.

Webex site administrators must do the following to enable live streaming for an individual user:

  • Enable live streaming services on the Webex site.

  • Enable live streaming for the user.

Enable live streaming services on your Webex site

From the customer view in https://admin.webex.com, go to Services, and under Meeting, select Sites.

Choose the Webex site to change the settings for, and select Configuration > Common Settings > Site Options.

Scroll to the Live Streaming Services section and select the streaming services that you want to enable.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Update.

Enable live streaming for individual users

From the customer view in https://admin.webex.com, go to Users and select the user to change the privileges for.

In the panel that opens on the right, in the Services, select Meeting.

Under Webex Meeting Sites, select the Webex site to change the privileges for.

Click Advanced User Settings and Tracking Codes.

Under the User Settings section, check the Enable Live Streaming check box.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Update.

Sign in to Webex site sdministration. On the left navigation bar, go to Configuration > Common Site Settings > Options.

Scroll to the Live Streaming Services section and select the streaming services that you want to enable.

Enable live streaming for individual users

Sign in to Webex site administration. On the left navigation bar, go to User Management > Edit User and select a user account to update.

In the Privileges section for that user, check the Enable Live Streaming check box.

Enable video resolution

Sign in to Webex site administration. On the left navigation bar, go to Configuration > Common Site Settings > Options.

Scroll to Webcast view and check the checkbox for Allow webcast view for attendees.

Once checked, a drop-down displays and you can select the 1080p video resolution.

Scroll to the Live Streaming Providers section.

To change the video resolution of any streaming provider, check the checkbox next to it and then select the 1080p video resolution from the drop-down.

Click Update.
