How Do I Find the Recording?

Hosts can sign in to their Webex site and click Recordings in the left navigation bar to see their list of recordings.

Attendees receive an email that includes the recording link.

The Webex Events recording has two links, which open the same page with links to either play or download the recording. The Webex Meeting recordings has two links, one immediately streams while the other immediately downloads.


The host may choose to disable the downloading of recordings.

How do I Download a Network-Based Recording?

Only the host of the meeting can access the network-based recordings.

Log in to your Webex site.

For example: SITENAME.webex.com

Select Recordings.

Click the Downloads icon for the recording you want to download.

You'll receive confirmation of the download in a new tab.

How do I Convert a Network-Based Recording to MP4 Format?

Before you begin

Ensure you have the Webex Network Recording Player for Advanced Recording Fromat (ARF) installed and you have downloaded the recording to convert to your computer.


The conversion of a Webex recording to Windows Media Format or Flash-format (ARF only) requires a Windows-based application. Webex recordings can be played back on a Mac, but they cannot be converted on a Mac.

Go to Start > Programs > Webex > Network Recording Player > Network Recording Player.

Go to File > Open, then navigate to the recording that needs to be converted.

After the recording loads, select Pause to pause the recording.

Go to File > Convert... > MP4 (MPEG-4 Format)....


 

If this option is grayed out for you, it is because you are trying to convert a streaming recording. Download the file to your computer and try again.

If you need to install a conversion tool the following window appears. You will be prompted to enter your login information for your Webex Meetings Host account and select Continue to download the tool and convert your recording.



The Convert to MP4 (MPEG-4 Format) window appears.

(Optional) Select which panels you would like to include from the recording in the Content Options section.

(Optional) Select the video quality of the conversion in the Video Quality section.

The default option is medium quality.


 

Selecting high quality increases the size of the MP4 file that is created

In the Schedule Conversion section, choose when to start the conversion:

  • Convert immediately
  • Convert at the following time: Select a time and date from the drop-down menus.

Select OK to begin the conversion.

Select OK on the dialog that appears.

You can check the conversion progress by mousing over the conversion icon in your system tray.



Once your recording is converted to MP4 format, you may play the converted file on any iOS or Android device that supports MP4 playback.

Can I Get a Network-Based Recording in MP4 Format?

MP4 recordings are available in Cisco Webex Meetings and Cisco Webex Events.

How do I Share a Network-Based Recording?

Log in to your Webex site.

For example: SITENAME.webex.com

Select Recordings from the navigation bar on the left.

Click the Share icon for the recording you want to share.

Enter the email addresses you want to share the recording with.

(Optional) Enter a message into the Message field.

(Optional) Toggle the Public Link button to enable or disable public link access.

Note: turning this off will disable the link for anyone with access to it.

(Optional) Select Password protection and enter a password into the field. Anyone trying to access this recording must have the password.

Select Save.

Install the Webex Network Recording Player

If you are playing back recordings that you have downloaded to your local computer, you may need to install the Network Recording Player. However, if you have received a link to a Webex recording, you can select the link to stream and view the recording without downloading the Network Recording Player.


To ensure the best possible compatibility, hosts should only use the player available from their own Webex site.

If you do not have a host account, you can download the Network Recording Player by going to https://www.webex.com/play-webex-recording.html and selecting ARF Player.

Select one of the service tabs (for example, Webex Meetings, Webex Events, or Webex Training).

From the left navigation, select Support > Downloads.

On the Downloads page, under Recorder and Players, select Recording and Playback.

On the Recording and Playback page, select the Windows or Mac OS X Download link for the Network Recording Player for Advanced Recording Format (.arf) files.

Select Run.

Follow the instructions in the wizard to install the Network Recording Player.

Permanently Delete or Recover a Deleted Network-Based Recording

In Cisco Webex Meetings you can permanently delete or restore a deleted recording.


Deleted files appear for up to 30 days in your Deleted Recordings folder.

Sign in to your Webex site.

Select Recordings from the navigation bar on the left.

Select the Deleted tab.

Check the recording that you want to recover or permanently delete.

  • To recover the recording, click the Restore icon and then select Restore in the pop-up to confirm.

    The recovered file is returned to Recordings.

  • To permanently delete the file, click the Trash icon and then select Delete in the pop-up to confirm.
  • To permanently delete all recordings, select the Delete All button and then select Delete All in the pop-up to confirm.

You can't recover deleted files after you delete them from the Deleted Recordings folder.
