You can share content when you're connected to a room or desk device.

During a meeting, select Share.

When you're sharing content with video or audio, you should check these options:

  • Optimization drop-down list:

    • Automatically Optimize—Chooses the best optimization for your content type.

    • Optimize for text and images—Displays text and images in your shared content at the highest resolution and clarity possible.

    • Optimize for motion and video—The video plays back much more smoothly, as some resolution is sacrificed in favor of a higher frame rate to reduce lag and increase fluidity in your shared video, animation, or dynamic content.

      If you choose this option, Share computer audio is automatically turned on for you.

  • Share computer audio—Allows others to hear your computer audio in addition to your microphone audio.

Choose the screen or application that you want to share.

If you share your screen, we show your Webex App windows, by default. To prevent them from being visible to other participants, hide Webex App.

For applications share all or an individual application window. To share your Webex App meeting window and all floating windows, you must select Share all windows from an application.

Hold Shift to select multiple applications. Everyone in the meeting sees one of the shared applications at a time only.

If you don't see the app that you want to share, scroll to see all your open apps, or drag the resize handle on any of the four corners or sides to make the window larger or smaller.

You'll just see the name of the app when the app is minimized, when the app relies on hardware to display graphics, or when it's a Universal Windows Platform app.

Check the Show me in front of presentation check box to show your video in front of the shared content.

This option isn't available when you share your Webex App meeting window and all floating windows.

Preview what you're sharing at the top of the screen. Check that you’re sharing only what you want and that everyone in the meeting can see it.

To show the preview window after it disappears, hover over the control bar at the top of the screen and click the down arrow .

Webex App suppresses notifications for incoming messages or calls when you're sharing your screen or application while in a meeting.

While you're sharing, you can select the following:

To expand or collapse the control bar at the top of the screen, click the arrow. If the share control bar is covering the shared content, you can drag the bar to any other edge of the screen or drag the bar to another monitor.

If the thumbnail videos are covering the shared content, you can also drag the floating panel to another location on the screen.

Use the floating window to conveniently access the following options:

  • Mute or Unmute to mute or unmute yourself.
  • Stop video or Start video to turn off or turn on your video.
  • Record Record button to record and save your meetings for later use.
  • Open participants panel to see a list of all the participants in the meeting, including their names, email addresses, and status (for example, whether they are muted or not). You can use this panel to mute or unmute other participants.
  • More meeting controls to access all the meeting controls.
  • Focus view Focus view to show the active speaker's video only.
  • Grid view Grid view to show the videos of the meeting participants.
  • Hide video view Hide video view to hide all thumbnails videos. The name of the active speaker shows in the floating window.

The indicator shows your network connection and CPU usage, the indicator appears when the meeting is being recorded, and the indicator appears when the meeting is locked.

When you want to stop sharing, click Stop at the top of the screen.

      Webex App needs an extension to share your computer audio. If you don't have the extension, then Webex App downloads it when you click Optimize for motion and video or Share your computer audio. You must have administrator permission on your computer to install the extension and share audio. Your administrator may install the audio driver for you.

Choose what you want to share:

When you're finished, tap Stop Sharing in the meeting to stop sharing.

If you're using Android 5.0 or later, you can also share your screen during a meeting on Webex App for Android.

Choose what you want to share:

  • Your entire screen—Tap Share > Start now to accept recording permissions and prepare your screen share.
  • 3D model—Tap 3D AR Object. The first time you choose this option, you may need to download the 3D AR object support module.

    Move your device so that the app can detect the surface. When you see the notification Surface detected on your screen, tap Add . Choose the model to share from your Android phone, Android tablet, Google Drive, or One Drive. You can share 3D models in GL Transmission Format (.glb and .gltf) only.

    Tap Reset to clear the added object and restart the AR session.

  • Your rear camera—Tap Camera and tap Share.

    If your video is turned on, your video stops when you share your camera.

  • An image that's stored locally on your mobile device—Tap Photo and choose the image.

    If the image is sideways or upside down, tap Rotate right button to rotate the image.

    Zoom in or out to focus participants' attention on a specific part of the image.

  • A PDF file that's stored locally on your mobile device—Tap File and choose the file.

When you're finished, tap Stop sharing to end.

You can share everything on your screen during a meeting. When you start sharing, you'll see indicators at the top of the screen to let you know what's being shared.

During a meeting, select Share screen, and then choose which screen you want to share. Click Share screen again to stop.
