A speaker tracking camera system tracks and frames the person speaking so that you don’t have to manually control the cameras during the meeting. The maximum distance for speaker tracking to work is 7.5 meters.

The following devices support speaker tracking:

  • MX700, MX800, and SX80 with SpeakerTrack 60 camera

  • Room Kit

  • Codec Plus and Codec Pro with Quad Camera or SpeakerTrack 60 camera

  • Room 55, Room 55 Dual, and Room 70 G2

  • Room Panorama and Room 70 Panorama

  • Webex Board and Board Pro

Webex Boards only have the Best Overview available on the user interface but it is possible to enable speaker tracking using the API. Check the API reference guide for more information.

Speaker tracking uses automatic camera framing to select the best camera view based on where people are in the room. The camera uses an audio tracking technique that finds and captures a close-up of the active speaker

The following devices do not support the full speaker tracking feature, but support Best Overview:

  • Room Kit Mini

  • Webex Desk and Desk Pro

Best Overview provides digital face detection and automatic camera framing, giving the best overview with all the people in the room. If people are moving around or additional participants enter the room, the system will adapt and automatically adjust to include everyone in the frame.
