Abbreviated dials

Abbreviated dials allows you to quickly reach frequently dialed numbers by entering a short index. The way to dial abbreviated numbers may vary depending on the phone model and the calling system that your phone is registered with.

For more information about this feature, see the following links:

Minimum ringer volume enforcement

Your phone may prevent the ringer volume from being lowered below a preset level. If this limit is reached, attempts to reduce the ringer volume using the volume buttons, on‑screen slider, or softkeys will be blocked.

Option to postpone software upgrades

This release introduces support for postponing firmware upgrades on phones registered with Webex Calling or Cisco BroadWorks. After the firmware image is downloaded, the phone displays a timed prompt that allows you to either upgrade immediately or postpone the reboot. You can postpone the upgrade up to 10 times at one‑hour intervals. After the postponement limit is reached, the phone automatically reboots and completes the upgrade.

Quick access with Up and Down navigation keys

On Cisco Desk Phone 9811, 9841, 9851, and 9861, you can press the Up navigation key to access the Recents page and the Down navigation key to access the speed dials list.

Enhancements for the Select key

On Cisco Desk Phone 9811, 9841, 9851, and 9861, you can now use the select key to make calls directly from the Dial screen, the Recents detail page, and the Contacts detail page.

Enhanced LED notifications in Display Off mode

By default, all LEDs are off when your phone is in Display Off mode. If your administrator enables LED indicators for Display Off mode, you can see phone status through LEDs, such as BLF, voicemail, missed calls, and shared-line status.
