Use Do Not Disturb (DND)
This Help article is for Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series and Cisco Video Phone 8875 registered to Cisco BroadWorks or Webex Calling.
DND silences your phone and rejects incoming calls. If configured, your phone directs incoming calls to your voicemail.
However, you will always receive emergency calls, even when DND is turned on.
If you turn on DND for a specific line, the line can still receive paging calls. When the DND applies to all lines, the paging calls will be ignored.
If a line key is configured with DND, you can press the line key to activate DND.
Single line
When your phone is in DND mode, you can see a Do not disturb bar and
the DND icon in the header. For phone with greyscale screen, the icon appears
greyscale in header.
Your administrator configures the soft buttons that display on your phone screen. If you don't see DND on your phone, contact your administrator.

Your administrator may enable this feature by default.

If a line has both Feature Key Sync and XSI disabled, the DND setting on this line applies to all the lines on the phone that have both Feature Key Sync and XSI disabled.

Configure DND on a line key
You can configure the Do not disturb (DND) feature on a line key on your phone or Key Expansion Module (KEM). Once configured, you can use the configured line as a shortcut to turn on or off the feature.
Before you begin
Your administrator allows you to configure features on line keys.
1 |
Press a line key on your phone for at least two seconds. For Cisco Desk Phone 9871, you can assign a line key with the feature on a KEM. If the line key is idle, you can add the DND feature on the line key. If the line key has been assigned with another feature, you can replace the configured feature with the DND feature on the line key. |
2 |
Select Create Do not disturb or Replace with Do not disturb.
If the option doesn't display or you can't assign a feature on the line key, contact your administrator for support. |
3 |
If you want to remove the configured feature from the line key, press the line key for at least two seconds, select Remove, and confirm it. |
