Poll Attendees in Cisco Webex Training

During a training session, you can poll attendees at any time by presenting them with a questionnaire on which they can select multiple-choice answers. Polls can be created during a training session or before.

Poll Attendees Overview

Polls can be useful for gathering feedback from attendees. Polls let attendees vote on a proposal, test their knowledge, and are a good way to encourage learning.

To take a poll, first prepare a poll questionnaire. You can prepare a questionnaire at any time during a training session, or you can prepare a questionnaire before a training session's starting time, save it, and then open it for use during the training session.

After you close a poll you can save the results, or you can view and share them with your attendees.

Prepare a Poll Questionnaire

On the Polling panel, presenters can prepare a poll questionnaire that includes multiple-answer, single-answer, and text-based answers. Once presenters complete the questionnaire, they can open the poll at any time during a training session.

Compose Poll Questions and Answers (Windows)

1Select Polling from above the Participants panel. Check under the More options and controls drop-down menu if it's not appearing.
2Choose your question type and click New to add your question to your poll.

Multiple Choice questions can have Single Answers where the attendees choose one answer, or Multiple Answers where the attendees choose all answers that apply.

Short Answer questions let attendees enter free form responses to questions.

3Type the question and press Enter.
4Type the answers and press Enter after each answer.

To mark the correct answer, first select it, and then click Mark as Correct.

5Click Open Poll. The poll closes after the set time has elapsed or the presenter clicks Close Poll.

Compose Poll Questions and Answers (Mac)

1Open the polling tab by clicking Polling .
2Click Add New Question and type your question to create a new poll.
3Add answers to your questions by clicking Add Answer and typing your answer. To mark the correct answer, first select it, and then click .

Multiple Choice questions can have Single Answers where the attendees choose one answer, or Multiple Answers where the attendees choose all answers that apply.

Short Answer questions let attendees enter free form responses to questions.

4Click Open Poll. The poll closes after the set time has elapsed or the presenter clicks Close Poll.

      Edit a Questionnaire

As the presenter, you can edit polls as it shows in this table:

      If you want to

      Do the following…

      Change the question type

Select a question > choose a new type > Change Type.

      Edit a question or answer

Select a question or answer > Edit > make your changes.

      Delete a question or answer

Select a question or answer > Delete.

      Rearrange questions or answers

Select a question or answer > Move Up or Move Down.

      Delete an entire questionnaire

      Select Clear All.

      Rename and Reorder Polling Tabs

If you have multiple polls open at once, you can name each polling tab so it’s easier to keep track of them. You can also re-order the polls so they’re more intuitive to reference.

1Double-click the tab name, enter the new name, and press Enter to rename the polling tab.
2Click the tab and use drag and drop to move a tab to the left or right.

        Display a Timer During Polling

Presenters can display a timer that indicates how long the poll is open for. That way attendees know how much time they have to finish the poll.
1On Windows select Options. On Mac, select the Set Options icon.
2Select Display, type the length of time in the Alarm: box, and click OK.

          Share Poll Results with Attendees

After the presenter closes a poll, the presenter can share the results with training session attendees. Shared results appear in the Polling panel.

The poll results are based on the percentage of attendees who chose each answer out of the total number of attendees in the training session, not the total number of attendees who filled out the questionnaire.

Presenters can share the following with attendees:

          • Poll results: Shows the poll results in the attendee's Polling panel.

          • Individual Results: Shares an attendee results document in a web browser with the attendee.

          • Correct answers: Shows the correct answers in the Polling panel.

          • Individual's grades: Shows the attendee's grade in the Polling panel.

On your Polling panel, select Share with attendees, choose what you want to share, and select Apply.
