What is the 'Enable video device bandwidth control' setting in site admin?

Note:

  • It not recommended to disable video device bandwidth control. Disabling this feature could result in a poor video experience.

Solution:

When Video Device Bandwidth control is enabled, Webex will lower the video bit rate in Cisco Webex Video Platform (V2) sessions, when low bandwidth is detected by the Webex client.

Site Administrators only

To enable or disable video device bandwidth control on your site:

  1. Log into your Webex Site Administration page. (Example: SITENAME.webex.com/admin.php)
  2. Click Configuration in the left panel.
  3. Click Common Site Settings, then click on Options.
  4. In the Cloud Collaboration Meeting Room Options section, select the desired option for Enable video device bandwidth control.
    • Checked: video device bandwidth control enabled
    • Unchecked: video device bandwidth control disabled

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update.
