End of Support for Cisco Webex Scheduler with Google Chrome Extension, Webex Scheduler for Internet Explorer, Webex Integration to IBM Lotus Notes, Skype for Business, and IBM Sametime

We will be officially retiring support for the Cisco Webex Scheduler with Google Chrome Extension, Webex Scheduler for Internet Explorer, Webex Integration to IBM Lotus Notes, Skype for Business, and IBM Sametime on December 31, 2020. They will no longer be available for download from January 1, 2021. Users of Cisco Webex Scheduler with Google Chrome Extension should move to the newer version of Cisco Webex for G Suite add-on.

One Button to Push

Joining a Cisco Webex Video Platform meeting is even easier!

  • At meeting start time, click the Join Meeting button from the endpoint's touch interface:

The Join Meeting option requires the following:
  • Supported endpoints: Cisco touch screen in-room devices
  • Minimum TMS version: 15.2, TMSXE 5.2
  • Booking the Telepresence room must appear in Outlook as a room resource
  • TMSXE - the room device must be deployed properly with an Exchange mailbox, and that device and mailbox are properly associated on TMSXE

Site Administrators can now utilize two new variables (%MeetingNumberNS% and %PersonalRoomID%) in the following Webex Desktop App email templates:

Invitation to a Meeting in Progress_PR (Webex Desktop App).
MC MeetingInfo For Attendee (Webex Desktop App).

    Video Conferencing Device

If you have scheduled a Webex meeting or you are meeting people in your Personal Room, you can start your meeting using a video conferencing device made by providers such as Cisco Systems and Polycom.

Before starting a scheduled meeting, have the following information ready:

    • Video address, also known as a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) string, in the format of (meetingnumber@sitename.webex.com)
    • Host Key

Note: Find the information in the email confirmation for the scheduled meeting or on the meeting information page.

To start or join a Meeting from a Video Conferencing Device:

Before starting a scheduled meeting, have the following information ready:

    • Video address, also known as a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) string, in the format of (meetingnumber@sitename.Webex.com)

    • If you are the host, enter the Host key or host PIN, followed by the pound sign # to start the meeting.
    • If you are not the host, enter the pound sign # to join the meeting.

You will then be joined into the meeting.

    Connecting using a Pilot Number:

Connecting to a meeting from a video conferencing device or application requires that you dial a video address, also known as a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) string. However, some devices cannot dial a full video address, such as 123456789@example.Webex.com or joesmith@example.Webex.com. To solve the limitation, your administrator can set up a pilot number for your entire organization a simple, numeric number that replaces full video addresses.

Before starting or joining a meeting, have the following information ready:

    • Pilot number
    • Meeting number
    • Host PIN (for Personal Room meetings) or host key (for scheduled meetings)

Note: For the scheduled meeting, find the information in the email confirmation or on the meeting information page. Personal Room meeting: Find the information on your Personal Room page or the My Webex Profile page, both accessible after you sign in to your Webex site.

Connect to a meeting using a Pilot Number:

    1. Start your video conferencing device or application.
    2. Dial the pilot number.
    3. Enter the meeting number when prompted.
    4. When prompted, do the following:
    • If you are the host, enter the Host key or host PIN, followed by the pound sign # to start the meeting.
    • If you are not the host, enter the pound sign # to join the meeting.
You will then be joined into the meeting.

Note: If this is a Personal Room meeting and the host has not arrived, you will be waiting in the lobby.
