What is the 'Enable URL protocol' setting for in Site Admin?

The 'Enable URL protocol' setting appears in site admin as shown below:

If the user has joined the meeting via TFS (Temporary Folder Solution) previously, and this option is enabled in site admin, this will allow the user to join future meetings on this site without having to download and run the TFS client again.

Browser Notes:

  • If a site is upgraded to a new version after a user has run the TFS, the user can still join the meeting using the URL protocol if they are using Firefox, Chrome, and Edge but to do that they would need to run the TFS again after the upgrade.
