Access voice messages in a voicemail group inbox

Group voicemail or shared voicemail is a collaborative voicemail box created by the administrator for specific work groups or users. Users within the group can access and listen to voice messages from any phone using the password set by the administrator.

Before you begin

You must have the voicemail group phone number or extension. If you don’t have it, check with your administrator.

Perform one of the following actions:

  • From any phone, dial the voice portal phone number.

    If you don't know your location’s voice portal phone number, ask your administrator.

  • From a Cisco IP Phone, press the Messages key.

Perform one of the following actions when prompted:

  • If you have both personal and shared voicemail boxes, then enter * and then the voicemail group phone number or extension.

  • If you have only the shared voicemail box, then enter just the voicemail group phone number or extension

Enter the passcode for the voicemail group.

Follow the voice prompts.
