Join a Webex Meeting with End-to-End Encryption
Follow the steps in join a Webex Meeting to join your Webex meeting.
Once you join your meeting, you can also see other participants' authentication status.
-
– Identity verified by an external public Certificate Authority (CA) or Identity Provider (IdP).
-
– Identity verified by Webex CA.
-
– Identity unverified. Unverified participants haven't signed in or authenticated to verify their identity with the Webex service. An unverified participant may enter any name when joining the Webex meeting. This name is displayed in the participant panel, but Webex cannot verify their identity. Care and consideration should be taken with people who join, or want to join, meetings as unverified users. We strongly recommend meeting hosts take steps to verify that an unverified participant is who they say they are.
To see security details about the meeting, tap Meeting Info, then tap the Security tab.
-
– The meeting is end-to-end encrypted.
-
– The connection between your Webex desktop app or Cisco video device and the Webex server is secure, but the meeting is not end-to-end encrypted.

Meeting Security Code—If you want to verify the security of the end-to-end encryption connection, communicate the security code to all participants, either verbally or in a message outside Webex App. Ask all participants if they see the same code in the meeting. If any participants don’t see the same security code, ask them to leave the meeting and join again, and then verify that their security code matches the current code. The current code you see may be an updated one. If there are any issues, contact your administrator.
