Change your speaker and microphone settings

If you work in a busy office setting, you can use a headset and personalize your audio options. If you work remotely, you can switch to a speaker or microphone connected to your device. Easily change your default speaker and microphone settings in the desktop profile based on your working environment and what works best for you.

Before you begin

  • Ensure you allow access to the microphone for calls from the browser, when you sign into the Desktop application.
  • If you use Desktop on the Firefox browser, check the Remember for all microphones check box when you allow access to the microphone.
  • Connect external microphones to your system.

Click User Profile at the top-right corner of the Desktop.

In the User Settings section, click Speaker and Microphone.

Configure the speaker and microphone settings:

  1. From the Speaker drop-down list, choose the type of speaker.

  2. Click Speaker icon. to mute the speaker. To unmute, click Speaker off icon..

  3. Click Test to test the volume level.

  4. From the Microphone drop-down list, choose the type of microphone.

  5. Click Test to test the volume level.

    Changes to the speaker and microphone settings are applicable from the next call.
