Attendees and Hosts Receive Countdown Notifications as Unattended Meetings Close After x Minutes

To ensure the security and integrity of Webex meetings, the platform will automatically end sessions under the following conditions:
Scheduled Meeting with Join Before Host (JBH) Enabled:
- Meeting Started Without Host: The session will continue until it reaches the maximum duration of 24 hours* unless all participants leave. If all participants exit, Webex will end the meeting after 30 minutes.
Scheduled Meeting with Join Before Host (JBH) Disabled:
- Meeting Cannot Start Without Host: The session will not begin until the host joins.
- Host Leaves Abnormally: If the host leaves due to network issues or other reasons, Webex will attempt to auto-assign the host role to another participant. If no suitable participant is available (e.g., lobby users or attendees in an event), Webex will end the meeting after 5 minutes. If a phone-only user is present, the session will continue regardless of the host's presence.
- Host Ends Meeting Properly: Webex ends the meeting immediately when all participants leave but retains the conference ID for an additional 4 minutes. During this period, any participant can restart the meeting.
- Host on SIP Video Endpoint: If the host disconnects the call on their SIP video endpoint, Webex will immediately end the meeting. This is because SIP video endpoints do not send an end meeting request to Webex, making it impossible to distinguish whether the user intends to leave or end the session.
- Scheduled End Time + X Minutes: When only one participant (host or attendee) remains in the meeting, the session reaches its scheduled end time plus a configurable extension period (set by the site admin), a popup message will warn the user. The host can extend the meeting via this warning message; otherwise, the meeting will be closed.
- Single Cloud-Registered Device: If only one cloud-registered device is connected to the meeting, the session will end after 30 minutes* of inactivity. This behavior is by design. The logic does not apply when the option is unchecked under Control Hub > Configuration > Common site settings > Security Options > 'Automatically end meetings if there is only one participant (Meetings, Training, and Events).' Each time a new interaction occurs, the timer resets. If there is no interaction for 30 minutes, the timer expires, and the device will disconnect.
