What are the Limitations when using File Sharing to share .ppt files?
list-menuFeedback?
Webex supports the sharing of Microsoft PowerPoint 2013, 2016 and Office 365 Presentations. This article will explain some limitations you may encounter.

Note:
If a presentation (Office 2013, 2016, 2019, or Office 365) has a lot of animations, we recommend using Desktop or Application Share to Optimize for motion and video. If it is a basic presentation with few or no transitions animations, then Optimize for text and images would be the best. For help, see: Share Motion and Video Content in Cisco Webex Meetings. Using the File Sharing option has the following limitations.

If you have Microsoft Office 2013, 2016, or 2019 installed, the following features are NOT supported when sharing PowerPoint files:

  • Animations and transitions
  • Embedded video or audio files
  • UCF Toolkit

When using PowerPoint 2013, 2016, or 2019 files with the above features, use Application or Desktop Sharing instead of File Sharing.

If you have customized your Info Tab, some custom elements may not be supported. We recommend that you validate it to make sure it continues to display properly in a Webex meeting.

In a few cases, the following problems may occur:

  • Text and fill colors may be slightly different from the actual colors in a slide.
  • Some graphic elements may be missing from a slide.
  • Fonts may appear blurry on a slide or differ from the original.
  • The size of the shapes may be different from the original.

If an object in a PowerPoint presentation does not display correctly in edit mode, it is automatically removed in Slide Show view; however, the object may continue to display when the file is shared in a Webex meeting.

You cannot share password-protected PowerPoint 2013 files using the file-sharing feature. Use the application sharing or desktop sharing features instead.

Beginning with Microsoft Office 2013, the title of a presentation/slide titles will not be captured in the Network-Based Recording table of contents.
