Overview of Flex Usage Reports

The Flex Usage report shows the license consumption of subscribers with their associated license type.

The Flex Usage Report is displayed using the ordering data from Cisco Commerce (CCW), which is processed to UCM services through Atlas, while the license usage is taken from the UC applications. The Service Fulfillment service in the Control Hub sends the order details to Flex service with customer ID, partner ID, order ID, and number of licenses purchased. On verifying the clusters, the Order ID is provisioned in the agents and the Flex service starts collecting the usage data.

The Flex Usage Report has the summary of license usage data in terms of knowledge workers, common area, and TelePresence license type, and is generated based on the subscription ID and order details. The report displays the license purchased and consumed for each license type and overage details. Use the license details and the compliance status that is displayed in the Flex Usage Report to keep the subscriptions active.

Viewing the Flex Usage Report

Use the Flex Usage report to understand the license usage and to verify if the licenses are in compliance.

Sign in to Cisco Webex Control Hub using your customer credentials at https://admin.webex.com/login.

Click UCM Cloud from the left navigation under Services, to view the Flex license usage associated with the subscription ID on the Cisco Webex Control Hub.

The Subscription section displays the following:

Flex License Models

Displays the supported flex License Models, examples: Flex 2.0 or Flex 3.0.

Subscription ID

Displays the subscription ID associated with the customer. The subscription ID is obtained from the Deal ID that is configured per customer while placing the license order using the Cisco Commerce Workspace (CCW) website.

Total License Entitlements

Specifies the details of the total license that is ordered for the associated subscription ID.

Total License

Specifies a summary of the total license consumed.


 

The compliance in the graph is displayed for each license type. Partner must use this report, to determine the overall customer compliance.

The License Usage by Type section displays the following:

For Flex 2.0 License Model, these parameters are displayed.

Specifies the usage and order details for each license type that is associated with the subscription ID.

Knowledge Worker

This license type includes:

  • A user with a desk phone and a personal phone number in an Enterprise directory profile that is configured within the installed software or an enterprise directory service (Voice mail may or may not be provided).

  • Any user with up to ten devices assigned or has DN, SNR, EM, and Voicemail configured.

  • A user without a specific phone device but using an extension mobility (or similar) and an enterprise directory profile that is configured within the installed software or an enterprise directory service (Voice mail may or may not be provided).

  • A user with a smartphone or tablet whose phone number or contact details are in an enterprise directory profile and configured on UC applications.

Common Area

Hard endpoint not associated to any user including Analog Devices, Conference room, corridor & common area devices consumes the common area licenses.

Telepresence

Any TelePresence device that is configured on the system consumes the TP (TelePresence) licenses. See Cisco Collaboration System 12.x Solution Reference Network Designs for details on the license types.

For Flex 3.0 Named User license model, these parameters are displayed.

Named User (NU)

It is a per-user subscription that enables customers to provide Webex Meetings or Calling services for individuals, teams, or departments and add additional entitlements with requirement.

Professional

The full-featured tier for employees and contractors who use multiple communication devices, including Teams, as part of their job duties. This tier includes voicemail.

Enhanced

The feature-rich tier optimized for task-based workers who use a single device without the need to voicemail.

Access

The entry level tier for a dial-tone and basic calling capabilities on basic devices.

Telepresence

Any TelePresence device that is configured on the system consumes the TP (TelePresence) licenses.

For a Flex 3.0 Enterprise User license model, these parameters are displayed.

It includes all Knowledge Workers (KW) in an organization. A minimum of 1000 KWs are required.

Knowledge Worker

This license type includes:

  • A user with a desk phone and a personal phone number in an Enterprise directory profile that is configured within the installed software or an enterprise directory service (Voice mail may or may not be provided).

  • Any user with up to ten devices assigned or has DN, SNR, EM, and Voicemail configured.

  • A user without a specific phone device but using an extension mobility (or similar) and an enterprise directory profile that is configured within the installed software or an enterprise directory service (Voice mail may or may not be provided).

To view the license usage for the required time period, click the Today filter and select the report time line to understand the usage and take appropriate action to keep the subscriptions active.

You can also download a custom report, to view the usage details only for a specific time period. Click Download Report and enter the time line values and save the report in .xlsx format.

View the Subscription Details

The Flex license report displays the license usage and the compliance status for the subscription ID. The Flex license is managed by the partner at the customer level using the flex subscription details. Based on the report, the partner must ensure to keep their subscriptions up to date. The Flex Usage Report generates the summary of license usage data for each license type such as knowledge workers, telepresence, and common area for the UCM Cloud users.

Click Customers, select the customer to view the license usage. Click View Customer, to launch the organization details.


 

If the customer has opted for UCM Cloud service, then the UCM Cloud icon displays against the customer account under services.

View the License Usage Report

The License Usage report displays an aggregated license consumption report of all customers for the selected timeline. This report helps the partner to keep their subscriptions up to date on a quarterly basis.

Sign in to Cisco WebEx PartnerHub using the partner admin at https://admin.webex.com/login, to view the customer details.

Click Services, and select Customer License Usage, to view the usage of all customers associated with a partner.

The Customer Name, subscription ID and license information are displayed based on the license module selected.

Use the search field to search for a particular customer. Select Show Overage only option, to view customers that exceeded the usage.

View or Download the license usage report and take appropriate action to keep the subscriptions up to date. View the license information using one of these methods:

  • Select the timeline using the Today drop-down next to the Custom Report tab. You can choose to view the report for specific days from 7days to 90 days.
  • You can also download a custom report, to view the usage details only for all customers or a subset of customers for a specific time period. Click Download Report and specify the exact timeline for viewing the report. Select the start and end time, and the month that you wish to view the license usage.

View the Cluster Details

The Clusters page in the Cisco Webex Partner Hub shows all the clusters that are associated with the customer. The Flex Usage Reporting service retrieves the cluster data from the Unified CM application. The periodic sync discovers the 12.x Unified CM publisher node that is added.

Click UCM Cloud under Services, and click Clusters.

The Clusters tab has these details:

  • Region– Specifies the UCM Cloud Data Center location where the UC application cluster is installed.

  • Cluster Name– Name of the UC Manager cluster group that is mapped to the customer.

  • License Usage– Displays the license usage for each license type that is associated to the cluster mapped to the customer. The different license types are:

    • Knowledge Worker

    • Common Area

    • Telepresence

Assign UC-Read only Administrator Role

Users with the UC partner read-only role can view the Clusters, Usage report for a particular customer, and the Partner list. However, this user is restricted from viewing the Custom report. This user can view only the Cisco Webex Partner Hub. You can assign these custom administrator roles for Flex Report to manage your customers:

Click Customers, select the customer to view the license usage. Click View Customer, to launch the organization details.

Click UCM Cloud from the left navigation, to view the subscription details on the Cisco Webex Control Hub.

Select Clusters, to view the cluster information. This option displays the customer details along with the paired clusters and their license usage.

  • Region– Specifies the location of the cluster that it caters.

  • Cluster Name– Name of the cluster that is mapped to the customer.

  • License Usage–Displays the license usage for each license type that is associated to the cluster. The different license types are:

    • Knowledge Worker

    • Common Area

    • Telepresence

Select Usage Report, to view the usage details for the customer and download the report.

Assign Sales Administrator Role

The Sales Administrator role is assigned by the Partner to manage few customers. The Sales Administrator can view cluster summary and customer details for the assigned customers and also launch the usage details for the customer. The sales full administrator and sales administrator can only view the usage details in Webex Control Hub but not in Webex Partner Hub.

From the partner view log-in to https://admin.webex.com using the Sales Administrator credentials, go to Customers and choose a customer.

In the customer overview pane, you can view:

  • Customer Name-Name of the customer

  • Services- Displays the Unified Communication application services that are assigned to the customer.

  • Provisioning Status-Displays the provisioning status of the customer with the cluster.

  • Subscription Status-Displays if subscription is active or inactive.

In the customer overview pane, select the Customer to view details. Click View Customer to cross launch the customer.

From the customer view in https://admin.webex.com, go to UCM Cloud. You can view and download the Usage Report of the customer for the required time-line.
