Configure push-to-talk for users

Sign in to Control Hub, and go to Management > Users.

Go to the Between-user permissions section and then choose Push-to-Talk.

Check Auto answer calls to allow this user's phone to automatically answer the push-to-talk calls.

The auto-answering works only with the primary device of the user.

  • One-way—the lines you add to the Allowed lines list can chat with this user but only in one direction. The user you enable push-to-talk for can’t respond to the people in the Allowed lines list.
  • Two-way—the lines you add to the Allowed lines list can have a two-way conversation. The user you enable push-to-talk for can respond to the people in the Allowed lines list.

Choose the access type:

  • Allowed lines—Choose this option to create a list of allowed users who can chat with this user.

  • Blocked lines—Choose this option to create a list of blocked users who can't contact this user.

From the drop-down, choose your Allowed or Blocked lines list and then click Save.

Let people in the allowed list know that they can use their desk phone to communicate with users that have push-to-talk enabled. They can press *50 and then enter the extension of the user they want to use push-to-talk with.

If you're a location administration, you can add only the users and workspaces pertaining to your assigned locations to the allowed or blocked list.
